My new digital camcocrder. I don't know how many of you have a Fry's electronics, but I brought my camcorder for $369 and it had a $100 rebate on it. It is a mini dv camcorder plus it doubles as a digital camcorder. There is even a slot for a memory card to be inserted so that digital pictures go to the memory card and you don't have to pull it off the tape. I is a 10th anniversay Sharp compact digital viewcam. It is the same size a a digital camera. Now when I go to Disney, I just have to bring the one with me instead of carting both around. The rebate ends March 31. Look around your stores to see if you can find one. It is a great deal.

MCazer-Thanks. I forgot to mention the website.

Hi all! Has anyone ever used this camera? It's a great deal but I'd love to hear more info. Does it seem easy to use? Are the instructions simple and straightforward? Picture quality, etc. Anyone have more feedback? Thanks.

even1-My husband and I have already used the camera and it is wonderful. The picture quality is great and the night vision works wonderfully.

I hope that the image comes up. My camcorder is black, but is excatly like the one in the picture. Here are the specs from Sharp

WOW!! Thanks so much for the picture and info! We're going down in August and I was going to by a digital for convenience (lightweight, size etc.) but I'd pay close to 299. for a decent still!! Was it a pain to read all the instructions??? I'm one of those people who MUST read every word but as I get older I hate to use my time doing it!!!! I just want to OPEN & USE!!!

Not at all. Mst of the reading is about all the features. The instructions are very simple and it comes with everything for your camcorder. The instructions are also extrememly straight forward. I know that there are other camcorders on the market. I was just looking for one that did both so I wouldn't have to lug both around Disney. Last year I found out that I never knew when I wanted pictures or video. Now I won't have to decide.

Also, you can by extra memory cards to fit your needs to store your pictures. 64 held much much more than we needed. I believe that we read the 8 would hold 100 pictures. Isn't that great and it's included.

SM4987 - You paid 369? It's 399. now. I think I'll buy it at Amazon. It's 399. there too but at least I'll get Free S&H!!! When did you buy yours?

About 2 weeks ago. Maybe Fry's had an even cheaper special when I brought it. However, $399 is not bad with the $100 rebate. That's a camcorder and a digital camera for $299! Even if you go through Amazon, I know the rebate still stands.

The rebate does appear at Amazon too so I better order it today since it expires 3/31. I see your going in 70 days or so... You must be busting!!! Even though I've gone to WDW quite a few times I still get SOOOOO excited!:smooth:

I know it amd I am too ready go. I need a vacation. We can only go once a year, but when we do, it is well worth the wait! I noticed that you are from New York, and I hope everything is going well and that you and your family feels safe. God Bless.

sm4987 - How nice of you... Yes, we do feel safe because we know who holds our future. God bless you & yours too.:)
