I find this dissapointing.

This post does NOT refer to the content of the thread in the link below. What it refers to is several posters' attitudes toward a 14 year old. I find it dissapointing that people will say "Stop reading and go back to the teen board." on the CB. Disboards is for everyone, and this certainly isn't the only board that I visit. No flames, I just found this upsetting.

I have to say, I posted on that, too, but age doesn't matter if you post on the community board. I honestly do not think that it has anything to do with his age, although it may seems that way, but it would have happened regardless. Opinions and anything said will always be disagreed upon by someone and it needs to be expected when you post.

Some of them, IMO, are a little stuck-up and won't share their territory... Heck, the DIS was made mostly for adults in the first place!

I post on other boards all the time. To tell you the truth, as long as you're not talking about 'teen issues' there should be no reason not to post on other boards. From reading that post, she wrote very maturely.

I can imagine!! He doesn't deserve to be flammed like that. Heck, I remember when I posted in disagreement with the CB and people were yelling at me like there was no tomorrow. It got worse than that thread. They told me that because I was only 17, people were going to pick on me...whether they agreeded or not, simply because I was 17...

...my point of the thread was saying how posters on the CB disrespect Teens. That thread proved my point.

I have had more than one adult tell me to "go back to the teen board" And I've had everyone of those adults flamed by other adults saying that I give one of the best arguements they've heard in awhile. I've been mentioned on a "best poster" thread more than once. I'm popular there. But I worked really really hard to become popular. I had to present myself as if I'm not fifteen. I had to argue harder and I had to fight tooth and nail to get accepted there.

People hate losing arguements to a teenager. They hate it. They hate admitting teenagers are right, even when they are. But the community board is for ALL posters. Even if some don't like it.

Now, not everyone is like that, but there are more than a few over there. You click on the CB expecting that.
