If I didn't know better, I would have rated it a comedy. The script, the plot, the acting, the premise had us in stitches. I am grateful I only rented this horrible movie. I continued watching to see if it would get better.

I liked the special effects, other than that....2.5 hrs of my life I'll never get back :sad2:

oh great, it's next on my netflix list, LOL.

ETA: it shipped today, so i'll be seeing this farce for myself in a day or two, lol.

my Bf and I just rented it a week ago. I agree it felt like a comedy. The whole time my Bf and I kept saying C'mon or Are they serious. I mean how many times can they just barely escape.

I recieved 2012 from Netflix a few days ago. I hate I will never get those 2.5 hours back. It reminded me so much of Independence Day. Even the characters were similiar. Woody Harrislon's character was just like Randy Quaid's character in Independence Day. The similiarities were pathetic! I litterely laughed all the way though it, I gave it 2 stars on Netflix because it did give me a good laugh!:rotfl2:

I fell asleep before it ended and DH had to turn it off. I sent it back to Netflix and I don't feel bad about still not seeing the ending.

I rented it from Netflix but I knew it was a movie full of bad acting/writing
etc. Totally over the top. But I wanted to see it for the special effects. I'm still not sure it was worth it for that. ;)

I had to double check who played Noah, sure enough, I recognized him from Psych, he plays young Shawn Spenser.

I agree completely I too wasted a Netflix on this...Seriously one of the worst movies ever made....I know that it's just a movie but I can't believe how people acctually buy in to the whole 2012 thing especially considering that the Myans used a complex base 20 numeral system which is very difficult to translate into our base 10 Arabic numeral system...Yet people try and Fail just as Epically as this movie did :thumbsup2

Funny, we watched it last night too. :)

I thought it was okay, very unbelievable, but liked the special effects a lot.

The worst part for me is now knowing the world is going to end on 12-21-12. :scared1: :rotfl:

With many more movies like this, we may welcome 2012.;)

I saw it and howled the whole way through...so stupid. The whole 12-21-2012 is just so dumb. Y2k comes to mind here. I think the SNL bit was better.

Wait a minute...I liked Independence Day!:lmao: Sometimes mindless entertainment is just the ticket! LOL
Oh, and 2012 just arrived from Netflix in today's mail! What a coincidence:rotfl:

I liked it but I went in expecting exactly what I got - a mindless, roller coaster ride of a movie. I think that an excellent ride could be created from it.

The 2012 thing fascinates me. I don't believe it for a second but it's fun to conjecture about what the Mayans actually meant.
