I finally joined the DIS...

After spending the last few months looking over my wife's shoulder while she surfed the DIS discussion boards, I finally decided to make my own DIS account! I must admit, the amount of info on these boards is a little overwhelming but we found the DIS to be valuable while planning our last vacation this past October. I love the whole LGMH thing and the Fokker signal has made me laugh more than once---unfortunately I didn't get to use it on our last visit, but there's always next year!
Looking forward to learning more about Disney...

I'm new here too! I have been lurking for the past few months in preperation for our trip in January. Spent alot of time lurking the Resort Boards looking for discounts and pins. I saw the message here about the 4/3 deal for the first half of 2009 a day before it came out to the public. That helped me get on the phone right when the deal came out and I got what we wanted.

So, I decided to create an account to at least say "Thanks" to the DIS board for helping me get a great discount when we needed it.

The Fokker signal is from Meet the Parents (and its sequel Meet the Fokkers). The signal is you point to your eyes with your middle and index fingers (in a V) and use those same fingers to point at the Dis'er of your choice. It's hilarious!

The only problem with using the "Focker" signal is that it is really just a small group here on the DIS that does it/knows about it. The LGMH is really the best way to recognize and talk to other DISers. Usually just a "Hey, I DIS too!" is the best way to start a conversation.
