Hi everyone,

Indulge me please b/c DH is sick of listening to me babble about our trip plans.

Well, I finally found us cheap airfare. We live in Milwaukee and like to fly out that airport if possible - but it was so cheap out of Chicago on Spirit Air - I couldn't pass it up. I had to re-arrange our dates a little too. Originally we were going Sunday to Sunday 5/16 - 5/23 but now its Tues - Tues 5/18 - 5/25. Thank God that Disney could still do the hotel at the discounted rate!!!

So, for 4 seats (2 Adults & 2 Children) on Spirit Chicago to Orlando
the price was $625.00 including taxes. Ha! Beat that Priceline!

Flight times aren't bad either. We leave Chicago at 1:30pm and leave Orlando at 6:30pm and direct flights, no stops.

I also got a good deal on an Alamo Rental car by using the Entertainment book. Estimated price is $180.00 including taxes for a full size car.

My trip is finally coming together. I just need to buy one more hopper pass for DH and we're all set!!!

Thanks for listening!!!!

Jennifer

That looks like an excellent deal to me!

And I sympathize with you on the DH issue...my DH does not want me to babble another word about our trip in six weeks.

Kudos....

DH only likes to hear me babble sometimes....but I plot for different trips all the time..:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Great deal on your airfare. DH will listen to me babble but the great deals I come across I find he just doesnt seem to get as excited as I do. His main concern is usually what Im spending vs what Im saving, lol.

Wow, good deal on airfare! I don't expect to find anything that low & we're going from DC.

Our trip is in Oct. & DH is already tired of hearing me plan.
:p

My next trip is not until November and DH just doesnt get why I need to read the Dis and plan every day. He just doesnt get it. So I try to keep the babbling to a bear minimum until about a month before the trip. (He cant threaten to cancel at that point!:hyper: )

I think he is starting to figure out that this is my way to relax and enjoy the trip just a little bit longer. ::yes::

You got excellent prices for the tickets. :smooth:

That is awesome airfare out of the midwest!

Good job.

I am still looking at $280 out of Rochester, ouch.

herc.

that is great!
i also have a question for you- i read this psot earlier this AM, and went to check out fares at spirit airlines ( and travelocity) and i found prices for the 4 of us for our trip time, were 74$( per ticket) !!!! OMG i have been watching midwest express and they float between 250-215 $.....WOW
we are from Sheboygan...I am wondering if we should go ahead and think about flying out of chicago instead?
geez i think that would save us 600$ on airfare alone :)
do you have a opnion on driving the the extra what 60 miles down to Ohare vs milwaukee?
we are shotting for the first week in january with a surprize trip for our kids....but my main concern for the entire trip is that being in WI and having such unpreditable weather we would get a snowsotrm the day we are spose to leave and not get to the airport :(
WOW that price for that spirit air has really given me alot to think about...

THANK YOU for posting the info!

ps.my DH is getting to that point also. he says and i qoute " you have that calender in yuor hands everytime i see you!" - and he too is getting that wondering look in his eyes when i talk about it ( hes trying to tune me out i believe)LOL

Tina

For that price I would definately take it and drive the extra 60 miles. Why dont you make a ressie at a hotel near the airport and spend the night close by if the weather looks like its going to be bad.

that is a GREAT deal!!! WTG!
My husband also tunes me out.. he always says ask me in 4 months..

oh well.. at least I got him to go back.. it has been almost 10 years since I went last!

I found great airfare too. Unfortunately, it was the day after I had booked with Southwest. Delta and USAir came out with rates almost $40 cheaper. That adds up when you are buying 7 tickets. Never thought I could beat SW for fares. Really dsiappointed in them.

SW just dropped our fares out of Cleveland. They were originally $99 each way, then dropped to $94 last week and they just dropped to $54. Unfortunately the $99 was originally non-refundable, so all we can get is future flight credit for the difference. Who would have thought two weeks ago when we booked that the flights would drop that much?

-DH

SW also dropped fares on flights out of STL (and Kansas City) to $59 each way. Even though we live in STL, we had originally booked to fly out of Indianapolis because it saved our family of 7 more than $1000. Now, we changed flights to fly out of STL for the same price!! Happy Day!!!

I'm going In april with my mom POFQ. So I thought my DH was off to a trip this year well we got into a disagreement about him being to hard on my step son and I guess he felt guilt so I asked, if me and him could go in October CSR and he said ok. My step son 13 isn't going because we would have to take him out of school and he is having trouble this year I think it is the teenage years between school and being mouthy latley to his Dad he is usually good for me I have no idea why but what i say is rule I think DH has put his foot done when it comes to me.
. But after i get the intinal yes I just keep my mouth shut unless he brings it up. He loves Disney but I tend to Go a Little overboard. I just make all the plans but he always picks CSR for a hotel we have stayed there the past three years since we met. We may split are stay between Universal and go for longer this year again. Like we did for are honeymoon last year. KELLY

My husband dislikes the trip planning "babble" also - but he loves the trips - so he puts up with it!!

Katiebug- we are also in Milw, and I have been looking at the Spirit air out of Chicago. How are you handling the car? I am afraid that all of the $ I save by flying out of Chicago will be eaten up with parking fees. Last time we did this, we stayed at a hotel and were able to keep our car there, but then that takes away from what you save on airfare? I like the thought of those direct flights....

Hi!

Fortunately, my parents live in Chicago - so we can park the car at their house for the week.

United is also running an incredible sale right now from Chicago to Orlando. The fares are actually cheaper than what I got. $140per person. Check it out on united.com.

In the past, if we couldn't leave the car with my parents. We have taken the bus from Milwaukee to the airport (Wisconsin Coach). It was $37 per person round trip and the kids (under 5) were free. They drop you off right at your terminal in Chicago. They pick you up at their office and you can leave your car in their lot free of charge - or can be picked up at General Mitchell airport. Here is the link to their website:

Hope that helps!
