Well, we stayed in the VALUE studio, which is supposed to be about 50 feet smaller than the regular studio. It doesn't sound like alot, but would probably make a great deal of difference in a couple of ways. First, there are two thick, square wooden coffee tables in front of the sofa. When you want to pull the sofa out, there is nowhere to put those tables (and walk!). At first I put one under the sink/vanity in the bathroom. But then my DH managed to stack them between the bed and outside wall. Alittle more room would have helped with the tables. Second, there was nowhere to put the luggage rack thing. The room is really just too small with all that big furniture in there. So, we had to squeeze the chairs and table together to the point that we could not use the chairs to fit the luggage rack next to the chair and outside wall. We wound up keeping that suitcase on the rack, and leaving clothes in there, because there is not alot of drawer space for four people.
The bed has three or four LARGE decorative pillows on it, which I had to stack on top of the wide (but not very deep) armoire/closet thing (I don't know what you call it!). And, I may not have gotten the pull-out sofa right, because I wound up with all four sofa pillows (plus two throw pillows) having to be stored away. I had to use the armoire thing for all of the pillows....so we couldn't use it for our clothes, etc.
Oh, by the way, the armoire had a pack 'n play in it, which I managed to store under the bed.
In our first value studio (which was a dedicated unit) we had another built in closet (small) which fit a few items. But the second value studio we were in (non-dedicated unit) did not have the closet, instead having a slight alcove area where the door to the adjoining unit was.
I wish I had some pics to show you, but I only took a few of my kids in the room and not really any that show what I'm talking about. I'm sure someone on these boards has posted some pics.
Next time we are going to be in regular studio, so hopefully will have alittle more room. And....I tell you what.....it has made me want to trim down on my overpacking habit!! It's always hard for me when we have the seasons where you have to prepare for hot and/or cold weather, because I double-pack. But when it's hot, and you know it's going to be hot....that cuts down on half my packing.
Aside from the storage issues, the room was very comfortable. I wish we had enough points to do a 1 BR, but then we wouldn't be able to make multiple trips a year (especially now that we have to go on weekends....ouch, those points hurt!).
