I feel stupid asking this..but it's buggin' me!

I have read several posts here about "free dining". Can someone please tell me how to get that?? Do I have to be an AP? Do you only get it certain times of the year? Will someone please explain this to me! Thanks.

A little OT too, but any info on "bounce back offers" would be great!

Disney offers a 'free dining' thing during the slower times of year. You have to book a package..room, park passes all in one. Which means you don't get to book your room at any discount but most times the free dining makes up for that. You can get some wiggle room in the park passes also.
I have never taken advantage of it because I don't want to give up my AP rates and if I'm not staying on an AP rate, I'm using my DVC points which means I don't qualify for free dining.

Disney has offered free dining, I think twice so far. You have to go at a certain time of the year. Again, I think it's some time in August until some time in September. You have to pay rack rate for the room, and you have to buy at least a one day pass.

The buzz starts in the spring, and there are only a few weeks to make reservations. Try using the search feature for free dining and you should find threads pertainlng to it.

Bounceback means if you are staying at WDW during a specific time frame, you can book a special offer to return while you are there. During specific dates in September you could book the "Free Dining", although Disney called it Complimentary Dining while I was there, for a return trip 8/30-9/27 in 2008. This is hurricane season & yet still hot, and a time frame they like to try and fill more rooms.

This year's "free dining" was offered as a Bounceback in Dec 06 and then open to public in April 07. Depending on their reservation status they will decide whether to open it in the spring so no guarantees. They offer so many rooms per resort.

There is a bounce back with free dining currently going on for on site guests, there is a flyer in the room when you check in or should be and it is on one of the TV channels in the room, you MUST be a current guest and MUST book from the resort phone to get the offer which is for some of August and I think some of Sept next year.
