We have AP's and are going in Sept. I did not get the 40% off deal, but am planning on a good room rate. I have never gotten a package. I like the flexibility of having 5 days out to cancel. We drive and have a car, so we don't eat at Disney very much. It will be me and my mother, and we can eat for much less than $80.00 per day. I have always felt sorry for folks at Disney that do not have a car and are captives to Disney prices! Hope eveyone has a great trip!!!

We have not noticed any large crowds due to F&WF
I have only gone in Oct. for the past several years, so what I think of as not crowded might not be right but we usually have under a 20 min wait for most major rides, if it is longer than we just grab a fast pass.

The best was 2 years ago when the FD was offered for the very begining of Oct. because we checked in on the last day and then had it for 10 days

anyway I will wait and hope for a deal in oct. but we will go one way or another with or without a better rate.

I am not thrilled as the FD does not apply to our dates of 8/9 to 8/16, and kind of sad that it does not apply. We have paid for the DP during most of our previous trips and were planning on paying for it again, so we are still going with it, however, I have a funny feeling that the food would taste just a tad better had it been "free", LOL!

you could do another ressie for those last two nights and at least get two days free dining you know....

save you SOME money...I would do it if I could

I believe the free dining requires a 3 night minimum. We are going 8/23 - 8/28 and can not get the last two days on the free dining either

I'm not excited about free dining either, but for a different reason, my 40% off was way more savings than free dining for us. I am thrilled for everyone else getting it, though, free dining is a great deal, especially for larger families, and was wonderful last year!

I have ressies for 9/26-10/4 @ WL & with FDP only 4 days b4 I had to rebook, meaning that I will be taking my DD out of school even earlier but my DH hasn't even found out yet if he can move his vacation up by 4 days When bookign this morning (called @ 7:06am--waiting for 32 minutes on hold!!) I was able to get it but had to move hotel to CBR:confused next year I wont worry as much, DH could still come home & say no

Totally NOT excited.
No amount of food or savings for that matter could drag us back to Disney in August or September, it's just to darn H-O-T!!!

But Disney in late October, who could ask for more!

Perfect weather, low crowds, MNSSHP and 40% off the Poly to boot!!!!
