It's been one thing on top of another for awhile now and I feel like I can't handle much more. I'm so stressed and sad all the time and I just want to be happy again but I feel like it's never going to happen. :(

I'm so sorry to hear that.

Have you been to see your doctor to talk about it?

This is one time where I can say I completely understand where you are at, the last 6 months have been very difficult, haven't posted much here, but I too feel like it's one thing after another. In fact today I broke down, my almost 4 year old daughter brought me a strip of her bubble tape and a glass with a tiny bit of orange juice and asked if it would make me feel better. It was just what I needed :) Hang in there

 We all have times like you are having. It is really hard.

No, we don't have health insurance right now and I really can't afford to pay out of pocket. We can get some through DH's work in 2 months but we're also looking for other options now.

True feelings of hopelessness are scary and I am sorry you are feeling this way. I don't know what you are going through but my advice would be to see a counselor of some sort.

ETA: I just read about having no insurance. County mental health agencies will see you on what's called a "fee for service". It's a sliding scale based on income.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are feeling this way! Not sure what is going on with you-- hoping its just a temporary thing, but maybe you need to talk about it. Is there a relative or friend that you can turn to?

I've been going through a really bad time myself recently & have confided to several of my friends that I've met on the boards. Sometimes its nice to have people help you through it that aren't actually involved.

Hope things get better for you soon & remember "This too shall pass!!!" :grouphug: If you would like someone to talk to about it you could pm me.

At one point we've all felt that way I think.

Lately I've been asking why do we get one step ahead fo us to be forced back 3?

I understand that feeling quite well. If it continues, I hope you'll see someone about it -- if you don't want to go full hog with counseling or whatnot, how about just talking to your doctor?

Nevermind, I just backed up and saw you're without insurance. One thing my doctor always recommends to me is to do anything that will boost your serotonin -- mostly exercise. Get some sunshine. Eat right. Maybe taking care of yourself like that will tide you over until you can get some professional help.

Oh dear, can your parents help you out in the meantime and pay them back later. I just feel waiting for 2 months could be a very long time feeling the way you do. What about talking to someone from your church? or anyone else you feel very close to?

Does your husband have an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) at work?
If he does, it usually includes family members and usually offers sessions with a counselor free of charge.

Are you having problems sleeping? I've had depression problems in the past and when I started having sleep problems things started to snowball. It's even harder to cope when you are tired. Don't let it get too far ahead of you, it will be harder to come out of it.

I know how you feel too. I don't think I'm clinically depressed, just overwhelmed with stress. Every single mother I know feels the same way, without exception. It makes me wonder how much of it is hormonal, and if it can be attributed to that, why aren't scientists putting more effort into finding a cure for it?

I hope you feel better soon, Kristin. :grouphug:

I agree with this. Also, I have noticed at times if I drink alot of Diet Drinks with Aspertame, I get into a funk and just feel really down. DH even notices and will tell me to back off the Diet Dr. Pepper. Just a thought.

I hope you're feeling better soon. One thing that always makes me feel better is taking my dog on a walk and playing with her. She's very goofy.

You have gotten some great advice, Kristin, so I won't repeat it. You should try some of the things mentioned, and hopefully it will help. Don't be afraid to ask for help from whomever you need to! And remember we are always here to lend a hug.

Have you asked your doctor what his fee would be for a "cash" visit? When I was without insurance for awhile last year it cost me $33 - and she gave me samples of medication..

It's worth a shot.. Some people don't even ask because they assume it's going to be very expensive..

Hope you feel better soon! :)

I'm sorry that you are going through such a difficult time now. Take time for yourself. Go for a walk or sit on the couch and watch a sappy movie. Take a long shower and enjoy the hot water. Use a favorite lotion.

I hope that you can go see someone that can be of help to you. I've been told over and over that God never gives you more than you can handle and you never know how strong you are until you are tested. This maybe your test and I know that you will coming out flying. You really are stronger than you know. I hope things get better for you quickly.:grouphug:
