I Feel Guilty

I got very good Christmas bonuses this year from both the firm and my boss. I really want to buy myself the Disney Lenox figurines of Mrs. Potts and Chip. But, I feel guilty using my bonus to buy them. I feel like I should be using it on the house or saving it. I am already taking a portion of it and putting it towards spending money for our trip to WDW in October of 2006. What would you guys do?

Well, if you have no other debts that need to be paid (other than the mortgage) and already have a healthy savings account, I say blow it on the figurines. You work hard all year, treat yourself!

But if you do have other debts like a credit card, student loan, etc. and/or your savings is low, then I say pay the debt/save it and only use a little bit for a little treat for yourself. You'll thank yourself in the long run!

Have you looked on ebay? I bought the lenox mickey and minnie figurines and other lenox items for christmas gifts off ebay and saved tons. They were brand new in box and had certificates of authenticity. Paid less than a third of the retail price.

I'm a compulsive saver so I don't recommend buying "stuff" if it could be used towards debt paydown or home improvement. But thats just me.
