I feel a little disappointed....

by the fact that the one bedroom in the preview center (AKV) showed 2bathrooms, when in reality only some of the one bedrooms will have 1bathroom. From what I understand, the one bedroom in Jambo house only have one bathroom. No one informed us of this, and I only learned it from hanging out on these forums. Having an extra bathroom is a big deal to me. I travel with my husband and two sons. The boys are little now, so it's not that big of a deal, but when they are older, it will be. Did anyone else not fully understand that the floor plans in Jambo House are considerably different than the ones planned for Kiddani, or am I the only one?

Kidani should be open by the end of next year, so you shouldn't have a problem as you will be able to reserve it at 11 months just like Jambo House.

Jambo is made up of converted rooms and they only had so much space. I have been told that several of the rooms have odd measurements and they became value studios.

I believe that when construction is complete that most of the 1BR's will have two bathrooms. Kidani villas will be far more numerous than the Jambo ones, if I'm not mistaken. Someone else with better knowledge might be able to break that down in numbers.

The AKV models are for Kidani, not Jambo. The villas in Kidani will match the model rooms. The value rooms are converted AKL standard rooms, a little smaller. even the standard and savanna villas in Jambo are not as large as the Kidani ones will be.

We understood fully that Jambo would be different from Kidani before we purchased at AKV. While the lack of a second bath in the Jambo units is a downer, all the Kidani units will have 2 bathrooms, so no need to feel like you were "duped". We figure it makes the Jambo units similar to the other DVCs in the bathroom department, so we have a choice.

Don't despair! As was previously said, the Kidani 1BR will have two
bathrooms. There will be far fewer rooms in Jambo anyway. All Kidani 1BR will have 2 baths and all Jambo 1BR will have 1 bath. Since you said it didn't matter now b/c your boys are small, you'll only have to wait a short time (not even a year?.....wishing ) until that vast Kidani property is open! We bought AKV for the same reason.....1BR, 2 baths for the two of us and three kids. It doesn't bother us to take a vacation or two with the Jambo units until Kidani is open.

BTW, the same was true for us as well. Besides the fact that it was spelled out for us, our guide said from the get go. "This is a 1BR in the new Kidani property".

To the OP....our guide never told us that the 1 bedrooms in Jambo house would not be what we were looking at in the tour. We even talked about when we would be going (he knew it would be before Kidani was open) and bringing an extra person with us and he commented on how wonderful that extra bathroom will be.

We rented for two years before purchasing. Took the tour a few years ago for SSR and did a good deal of research. I did miss that detail though in my research. Probably because it wouldn't have changed our minds to purchase at this time anyways.

I didn't want you to feel you were the only one that the guides didn't disclose everything to. Many people count on the guides to give all the pertinent information, and why shouldn't we expect that....and when they don't, we feel we can't count on those guides, and that's not a good feeling.

Sorry you were unaware of this. I see how it could go unknown if someone is not doing a ton of research. As others have said, though, Kidani will be open relatively soon and all of those 1-BRs will have the extra bath.

Nope, I went and looked (and dislike the second bathroom, btw - makes the master bath so much smaller - I'd rather have one luxurious bath like the other resorts than two tiny bathrooms - sharing one bathroom for four people is reasonable for us) and it was clear to me that there would be "several" floorplans and this was one - from both literature and what the guide said during the tour.

I also did not realize at first, because the tour did not make it really clear. I did call and inquire one day after AKL rooms opened and the man at MS who helped me had no IDEA what I was talking about! He put me on hold and did some investigating and then came back with the right answer: the NEW section would have the extra bathroom but the current Lodge rooms did not. This DID matter to me. When the kids and I travel with my parents in the summer, we are 5 in a 1-bedroom. That extra toilet is PRICELESS! As a result, we are holding off on our AKL-V stay until the new section opens.
