I used to faint whenever I had a shock to the system--if I fell and hit my "funny" bone, once when I fell down the stairs, a few times due to being really hot like at an outdoor concert--but I hadn't fainted in a long time--I can't even remember the last time. But today looking back all of the ingredients were there for it.
I went to get a mammogram--no worries, just the once-a-year. The xray office had no air and hadn't had any at least for a day. They had just opened up. They had fans in the reception area but not when I went back to the xray room with the technician. So issue one--it was hot and stuffy.
Issue two--monthly visitor just got here and it is the worst day of it, so my iron must be way down.
Issue three--first thing in the morning--empty stomach.
So on the fourth take for the mamogram--the sideways, cram it in on an angle and look away--this one kind of hurts so there is pain involved--then I have to hold my breath...that's all she wrote.
The machine released and I said "I have to sit down" and kind of threw myself toward the chair in the room--seconds later the poor technician is sitting next to me making me put my head down as I come back to reality. I don't think it was very long, but she said I almost fell out of the chair. She yelled for the other girls in the office, but the door was closed and they had fans running--they didn't hear her until I was OK enough so she felt she could let go of me and open the door. I put some wet cloths on my head and they got me some water. She had one of the other girls stay with me until she made sure the films were OK.
They kept apologizing, I kept apologizing--I said it isn't anyone's fault, unless you count the A/C guy.
I still feel "off"--after that I called DH and he bought me breakfast, then I had to take DD#1 to the orthodontist. After that I tried to lay down but had to get up to take her to another commitment. Now I'm not really tired, but too out of it to accomplish much (plus it's 95).
So that's my fun story of the morning. Nice ay to start the week!
