No flames please, just doesn't seem like my cup of tea.

We booked Feb 6, 7 and 8 and have a studio. I did this mainly for the pool, I have an 11 year old who will be with us. My hubby and I go to the Budweiser shootout (Nascar) as "our" trip and somehow DS snuck his way in!!

So, pool is under construction, it is February and possibly cold....I want VWL!!!

I am waitlisted..what do you think my chances of this coming thru are?

SAB is a huge pool, so I think the rehab will be done in sections. We stayed there last Mlk weekend. DH and kids loved it, I loved the location but I prefer VWL too.

Lucky you going to the Shootout! :woohoo:

Have you ever stayed at BCV? They are very quiet....and soooo close to EPCOT. You can walk through EPCOT and jump on the monorail to go to MK. DS is a boat trip away.

I have no idea what your odds on the waitlist but I don't think you will be miserable at BCV.

Good luck either way!!:goodvibes

BCV was the last DVC resort I tried because I did not think I'd like it - and it ended up being one of my favorites!

LOVED BCV. We stayed there 6 nights this past July and LOVED EVERYTHING SINGLE THING. We are hoping to book there again for next July. :cool1: Our kids wish we owned points there too.

Hi Kim, Going slightly off topic here, hope you don't mind ... but maybe you can help answer this :goodvibes

DH, DS & DD & friend drove from WDW to Pepsi 400 in July ( we were staying onsite at WDW, big family / friends trip ) - going went fine but coming back to WDW after the race ended was brutal - drive was extemely slow tons of traffic out of track area onto I4, etc. I am presuming you and your husband drive to/from WDW&track (or do you go by bus ?) Just wondering if you have any suggestions on how best to get away from track area after race is done and if there is a better way to get back to WDW than taking I4 ?

Thanks and hope it works out for another DVC resort if you decide not to stay at BCV ( we've never stayed there yet only because we haven't been lucky enough to get it at 7 month window ).

It is really magical being around Crescent Lake.... Hope you enjoy

BCV is awesome, I've stayed their many times.
Great location; Boardwalk, Epcot
Excellent dining; Cape May Cafe, Beaches and Cream

This is why we changed to the shootout....barely any traffic. Too be honest, I love it more than the actual Daytona races (we did both). Traffic was horrific....to and from. As far as I know, I4 is the only way. It took, 6 hours to get there from VWL and we left at 6:30 am. This was with one stop at Denny's for breakfast. For shootout, no traffic, smooth sailing and we loved the race!! We spent the extra $25.00 for the fan pass so, we stood in the grass for driver introductions. Totally loved it!!

We always stay at Disney since we don't have to pay.....I know, as my husband tells me, we pay $20,000 for the luxury!

I have the same problem with BCV the beginning of March. I love BC, but if the whole pool is closed...I would rather stay at BW, but it's full. I am trying to remain calm, but a closed pool did put a crimp in my seamless vacation. Please, people, if you are going to BC this winter, let the rest of us know about the pool.:worship:

Thanks this is good to know ! I will have to tell DH & kids to see if they'd consider doing the shootout instead....the kids are huge Dale Jr. fans and he has done well in the shootout so they may go for it. Thank goodness for DVC cause as they've gotten older they now want to bring friends along so it is great we can get a larger villa when we need to !! My husband, like yours, manages to remind me about the cost  but I then I remind him what we could be paying for regular hotel rooms :rotfl:

Have a great time & thanks for the info :goodvibes
