I don't want to exercise today!

I am just so tired. I can't even imagine getting up off my sorry rump and heading to the gym. I did not do my strength training, as I somehow managed to hurt my knee. :confused: I know once I get there and get going, I'll enjoy myself, but I just don't want to get going. (I can work on the elliptical, I think, without furthur injuring anything.) I can just tell DH was right about TOM! (Yeah!) All the more reason to get going, as I will be out of it over the weekend, and could be as early as tomorrow. :(
So, I'm going to get my gym clothes on, and see if that feels any better, and I guess I'll call DS's school and tell them not to have him get on the bus. Maybe I'll fix myself a cup o' joe, or some tea, as well. If I get there and still don't feel like working out, maybe I'll just hit the spa. Not a bad reason all by itself to get up and go.
Anymore motivational speaches would be greatly appereciated. Trying to get myself up for this, but I am weak!

I got my gym clothes on, and I do feel a bit better. I need to get my motivational music together, and psych myself up for a good work out. ( I also packe my bathing suit, just in case. ;) )

My personal choice would be the spa! :p You work out so much and so often that one day off, in the grand scheme of things, is not a big deal.

I say listen to your body. Maybe compromise - do a SMALL workout and then hit the spa. It doesn't have to be all or nothing, does it?

Hi Doe! I knew I could count on you to turn my frown upside down! :p Thing is, I am afraid that if I don't go today, tomorrow will bring TOM and I will be out of commision for 3 or more days, instead of just 1 or 2. It is so much harder for me to get back on track when I miss more than a day or two. I just finished my tea, have my gym clothes on, called the school, and figure I'll do what you said. I'll get on that EFX and peddle like crazy untl I can't stand it, or until my 30 mins is up, whichever comes first. Then I'll re-assess. Maybe I'll work my arms, or maybe i'll hit the spa. I am going though!

I did it! In fact, I over did it.:( I did 40 mins on the EFX, and by the time I got off I was shaking!:eek: Though I didn't realize it until I tried to grab my CD player. I know for sure TOM is upon me. I always feel like I'm exercising with an 800 lb. gorilla on my back! Anyway, that much of my day is done, and now if I only miss one or two days, I won't have any trouble getting back to business!

Tracy, sorry I'm so late responding. I'm glad you took Doe's advice to "just do it". I can't think of too many days I wake up and WANT to exercise. I do WANT the good feeling I feel afterwards so I put on the radio to get me motivated, splash some cold water on my face and "just do it".

I bet you feel great for giving yourself that little extra push! :)
