Ok I am very interested in DVC. How does it work? How much does it cost to join? I read the rent/trade board I thought of renting points. How much would 109 points cost? if I were to rent them? This all so confusing! PLEASE HELP!!!
 
DVC is a timeshare system. You purchase a real estate interest which is represented by an amount of points. These points can then be used to reserve different accommodations. Different accommodations each require a certain amount of points depending upon the time or year and the size (i.e. studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, or Grand Villa). There is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) post that you should look at to get more general information.

For information on renting, the Rent/Trade Forum is the best place to get more information. However, its a good idea to understand how DVC works before you decide to rent points. The cost to rent points varies on the person renting them. I've seen everything from $8-$12 depending upon when the points can be used.

hi wendyww: there is a thread on this page called dvc faq. that will cover the basic questions regarding dvc and is a good place to start. the minimum contract for dvc to start with is 150 points. after that, you can do "add-ons" in much smaller amounts. the current price per point to buy in is $72 per point; this will be going up to $75 per point on 6/3/01. you can have a mortgage on this up to 10 years. if you have questions after you read the faq, just post.
