I dont understand....why am i not fitting FOP?

If you are too big then you are too big.
It stinks but its just reality.
Most attractions are extremely Pooh size friendly. Apparently FOP is designed in such a way that it just cannot be.
Stop complaining and enjoy everything else you can ride.
Now you have a goal for a future trip.
If she fit on the test seat, then she wasn't too big to fit. It all depends on the CM working the attraction and how much they want to help people fit. If they don't care and don't take the time to work with people, then a larger number of people will have to walk off in humiliation.

If you have to work to fit into a restraint system then its probably just not the ride for you.
BTW I've had to walk off an attraction before and did not feel humiliated at all. No one there gives you a second thought and its nothing to be ashamed of. If you don't fit you don't fit.

Why does having shoes on/off make a difference for you? If it's the ankle angle, then yes, try a pair of shoes that let you bend the ankle. But if it's leg position, having fat legs and a huge butt is going to make it hard to get in the right position, no matter what shoe you are wearing.

Don't be surprised if you get a warning for your racist comment about the Chinese, BTW.
Totally uncalled for bullying! I HATE how people get so nasty online! Bless your heart you must be a special kind of person! OP ignore people like this and have fun! I use to be so active here but now I just lurk because I found if you say the weather is bad in Disney the trolls come out to blame you! YES, I see no reason the shoes being on or off should matter!

I'm sorry OP. That's so stressful. I hope you figure it out somehow.

I think when you're dealing with kids and adults on rides, there is such a wide variety of body types and sizes to accomodate. The height requirement on FoP is 3'8 which is the height of the average 5-6 year old, who could weigh as little as 40 lbs.

I do think it might be time for Disney to design larger seating as an option for those on the higher end of the weight chart if they are going to try to keep height requirements so low.

it really all depends on where your weight is distributed. My husband is 6'4 200lbs and has a size 14 and he fit fine with his sneakers, but his calves are very small. I'm not surprised they didn't let you ride without shoes, that is a standard rule on all Disney rides, even the water rides.

I don't think blaming the chinese manufacturers makes a whole lot of sense, majority of the people that want to ride this do fit. I'm sorry you didn't get to go on, I'd try again with some flip flops maybe.
Nope, on Soarin' in fact I think they TELL you if you have on flip flops take them off. OMG do we have to make everything into racism now?

I feel like we're being trolled, but I can't help myself. The fact is that not every person can ride every ride in the parks for various reasons. Some people have health issues that make certain rides off limits, some are too small to ride, some are too large. Regardless of the reason, it's bound to be disappointing that you can't enjoy a certain ride -- but shake off the disappointment and enjoy the many other rides and attractions that aren't off limits.

I really don't care if you feel you're being trolled. I'm not trolling and my response is valid and the online bullying is uncalled for and yes the Chinese did manufacture design and produced the ride vehicle that's a vehicle and apparently my foot size is the problem again... The Chinese have tiny feet that's a fact they even make the women wear special shoes so their feet don't grow large and I have every right to complain . I should have no problem fitting and yet I do being 6'1 isn't freakishly tall and wearing a size 22 pants when most American women are now a size 14 isn't that huge in comparison and yet I was still unable to ride. That's a problem and it's not my problem specifically the vehicle was designed poorly for larger Americans.

It's probably too late for the OP, but I think that this thread *might* help others. The first thing that I thought of was a pair of those foldable ballet flats would help in this situation. I also think that regular flip flops would work too. Good luck OP ... I hope you make it today!

What are you contributing here?
I'm simply saying that you do NOT have to wear your shoes on Soarin'. I knew exactly what the OP was talking about when she was discussing size. It wasn't a race remark... it was a thing about the size clothes from China are made.... Will I fit... yes...I am smaller but I don't like how some people jumped unto the OP. . . that's what I have to contribute.

Not all rides can accommodate all sizes.
You joined this website today while at WDW just to complain that you cannot fit on an attraction.
That says a lot about where your priorities are while on vacation.

Thank you. I bought my super bendy water shoes and I hope that does the trick. My fp is for 12:35 so I will update and I hope this thread does help other people of size especially if you have big feet and wear clunky shoes that don't bend..... Wear bendable shoes or flip flops

I joined for support and tips not judgement so you can bully someone else. My priorities are where they should be

In one post you say 6'1" is not freakishly tall (which I agree with) and in the next post you say there's not many of you there.
Hmm...

I have not bullied you at all.
I am just trying to get you to see that not all attractions can easily accommodate all sizes and you just keep ignoring that lol.

Are you talking about foot binding? Really? You do know that people don't do that anymore don't you?

NO - that is not a fact. Yes, historically, foot binding occurred, but not in the present day. You cannot blame the historic action of foot binding for your being too large to fit in the ride seat.

Even if there was still foot binding, the people designing/building the ride did so to Disney's specification not based on the size of people in the country where the factory is built.
