Can anyone please tell me if DCL is honoring the old $50 drink credit for people booking and paying for their trip in entirely with the Disney Visa? I know the perk has changed, but last time they honored the perk when I booked instead of what they were offering at the time of sailing.

Also, anyone know if they can apply military rates to a current reservation? If not, know when they changed that?

The Disney Visa perk is no longer a $50 credit (beverage or otherwise); as of January 1st of this year they began offering some onboard discounts instead -- shopping, spa, and something else I think. You can check the Disney Visa website for details. The offer is not based on when you booked, it's based on when you sail.

I believe FLR is the only special rate that can actually be applied to a current booking. MTO and *GT requires "new" booking. So that means taking the penalty depending on how close you are to the cruise date. I have heard that sometimes the MTO offer can be good enough to more than offset that penalty and still save money, so do your math. However, you may lose your chosen stateroom or dining preferences; I'm not sure about excursions or onboard activities if you already have those booked.

You also lose any onboard activities you booked since the current booking has to be cancelled. When you cancel the booking everything goes away.

That changed for cruise bookings at the beginning of the year.
The Disney Visa perk for DCL cruises changed as of January 1, 2017. They no longer offer an OBC; the current perks require you to have a Disney Visa on record for your stateroom charges.

He told us $50 drink credit, $200 statement credit if we spent over a certain amount in the first three months, and whatever the percentages off were. Had it all in writing there in front of him. He also said that what he was offering was different from what we'd get if we did it online. So apparently, if you open a card face-to-face, you still get the credit?

I ended up rebooking with a different CC I got...paid for the cruise to max the sign-up bonus, which paid for our flights. I see little value in the Disney visa now! There is fine print to even the small remaining discounts. I get 3% cash back on travel with the card I use, and can apply that to discounted prices!

I was on the Dream last month. No $50 OBC. I did receive the photo package discount and the merchandise discount, though both times I had to remind the CM that I was using my Disney Visa (it's noted on your KTTW card).

I went to pre purchase the photo package for my cruise and the way it was explained to me was that the pre purchase rate is discounted already so no discount with the disney visa, anyone have any experience with this?

Sorry you're having problems with your TA, I've been there, done that.
As others have mentioned, in these two cases she is correct. We last had OBC drink credit in July 2016; went away in 2017.

We've sailed many times on MTO and to do so must cancel original booking and r/s. Usually worth it for the savings (in my experience!).

The $200 credit bonus is a "regular" bonus for opening a new card and spending XX amount of dollars within a specified time.

The $50 drink credit used to be the Visa perk for bookings using the Visa card on cruises starting prior to 31 Dec 2016.

Unless there's been a change/addition to the Visa perks, I don't think there's any drink credit now.

But the standard "perk" with the Disney Visa for DCL changed the first of the year, as others have mentioned. If you have some other special offer code, that may be additional. You'd have to call DCL with your code to ask.
