I don't smell anymore!!

I had outpatient surgery on Monday. I took a medicine shower before I went in but haven't had a shower until this morning. DH told me that I wasn't supposed to because they used Dermabond instead of staples and it needed time to set.

I took a sponge bath out of the sink last night. I thought he was going to faint. He finally got the paper work from the hospital and it said that I could take a shower and PAT dry the areas.

He just looked at me and said,"Better to be safe than sorry." I said,"But I smell and my legs are very hairy." "Nobody is looking at them or smelling you! Shower tomorrow"

I feel human again.

isn't it horrid to Skip those showers,, its always the first thing i want when i get home too. i had to wait almost a week this time for areal shower,, they used the tape strilestrip stitches to hold my neck and around the grafts in my eyelids this time, you cant get it wet, it turns loose have to wait till it dissolves and turns loose on its on, i was able to get into the tub after the third day, but still wanted that shower

Missy28 - a medicine shower (I call) is when you shower with the same medicated scrubber that the surgeons use when they prepare to operate. I has a sponge on one side and soft (not too soft) plastice bristles on the other. The medicine foams up like soap.

I had to take one Sunday night and Monday morning ( before 6 am). The entire body. I'm sure they re scrubbed me again when I went into the operating room but I was completely out before they wheeled me out of pre op.

I was tinglely (sp) all over.
