I've been watching the progress of the horrible winter storm passing through the midwest. It is currently 13 degrees in Kansas City. I moved to Orlando from Kansas City a couple of years ago. It is 80 degrees in Orlando today.

People ask me if I miss the seasonal changes. Maybe a tiny bit, but I sure don't miss the type of weather the midwest is getting now!

By the way, I just saw my old office building in KC on TV!

yah yah yah, dont come crying to us when the Hurricanes come ;)

I can sympathise, I like the Florida weather, If I ever feel like I miss snow I can take a vacation, after a week your sick of it! Also in the line of natural disasters, at least we get a few days warning for hurricanes, more than you can say for tornadoes or earthquakes

I can say we have had a pretty good winter but I am in the middle of the ice storm and we are suppost to get bitter temps tonight with high winds tonight...

I wouldn't trade living in St Louis for the world but with that said... I will be in Palm Beach in a week and WDW in April... it makes the winters easier to get out of town:rotfl:

Peg it's 70° here in B-more and going to drop to 15° by Wedn.

I so need to just move to FL and get it over with. Dd has 4 years of schooling HS and will be looking.

I just hate the cold now and I use to love it.

Understood. The older I get, the less I can tolerate the cold.

I don't miss anything about the New York winters... or summers, or any season. We're in a location where the weather is moderate (by Florida standards) and we do get some change of seasons, but nothing too severe. We're at less risk of hurricanes compared to the rest of the state, too.

I could stay in Flroida for the cold months (January, February and part of March here in CT), but I would miss the autumn and Christmas time in New England.

I often say that perfection to me would be to leave CT on December 30th, drive to Florida, arrive New Year's day and stay till the end of March.

Yep...my goal in life is to be a snowbird!!!!!!

I am lucky enough for my job to be able to travel around the country. I get to see the changing of the seasons but none of the work. No snow to shovel, no leaves to rake.

I love living in Orlando instead of PA.

Warm here today in S. Jersey 64, but come Wednesday it is going to drop! Hoping the cold temps kill some of the germs in the air... :)

Seventy five degrees here today, 73 yesterday and the day before. :goodvibes However, by tomorrow night it should be a different story. :cold: :cold:

Had e-mail today from someone in Boca. She said it's way too hot for this time of year and complained about running the A/C.

I am so glad to hear you say that. My DH and I are considering a move to a warmer climate and everyone I tell thinks I will miss snow and autumn. I don't think I will and I can always visit!

If there was ever any doubt that the cold weather affected my back, from time to time down here I'm assured that was the cause. Even when the temps go below 70, everything stiffens up. The husband says maybe we should move further south. :rotfl:

While summer can be tough, the way my back feels during the wicked heat makes it worthwhile.

 :car: Moving to Peg's house, because she has the place to herself now!:cool1:

I hate cold weather.

Nothing but cold, cold rain here allllll day. It chills you to the bone. I think I'd rather have snow (did I just say that?).

I would love to move to Florida. I don't even talk about it anymore, though, because everyone says I'm crazy, I'll miss the seasons, Florida has bugs, hurricanes, etc.

I'm so glad to hear you say you love it.

Oh come on. You know that ice storm a few years back was so fun! Heck, no power for a week, it was just like vacation!
At least this time we all have power, the only reason schools have cancelled tomorrow is the bitter cold. ;)

I would rather do an ice storm than a hurracane.

I would kill for a Florida winter--the 60s!!!! I got pregnant so that the hardest part woudl be in the COLD months!!!!! I'm dying here! Hot everywhere I go. Driving me BONKERS!!!! Especially since I can't set the thermostat at church...at the grocery store....at the doctors office....anywhere!

But at home--I sneak it down to 72. Cold AC in January---just not making sense to this pregnant chick!

That's funny. I was on leave during that storm after surgery. I didn't have to go out and we never lost power. :) I did feel bad for everyone else!

Not making light of hurricanes, but I've been through 3 hurricanes and a tropical storm. There weren't bad at all. Of course, I'm not on the coast!!!
