First, I'm new at this whole airline online reservations thing so excuse me if I'm sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. I've found what I think is cheap airfare but not sure. It is on airtran out of memphis, connecting in atlanta. The fare was about $150 roundtrip. Is this a good price? Also, I'll need a rental car or van to fit 6 people. Any suggestions on who has the best rates and what kind of car I should get?

Airfare for $150 sounds reasonable to me! We are paying $173 RT (tax inc.) from St. Louis on SWA. as far as a car, I would shop online, daily if possible. I have a car thru Emerald Aisle @ National for $186 (W/tax) for 9 days using DC discount & an internet special. Granted this means I will get at least an intermideate size, but there are often larger vehicles on the aisle. I also made a ressie for a full size for the same time incase there wasn't one I wanted on the aisle & it was only $9 more. We get coupons for car rentals with Mastercard bill each month. Sign up for e-mail from all of them.

That was a good fare...best I can find now is $173.00 total RT if booked through www.airtran.com .

I'm sure somebody will post a bunch of garbage about not to use airtran...etc, etc. , but they are they same people who complain when fares are so high when these smaller carriers pull out, and the large airlines jack up the fares.
I've flown just about every airline in the US, as well as Air Tran, and had nothing but good experiences with them.

Have you tried doing a "search" (it's on the right, up towards the top)? For search keyword, put it "minivan", then just below it (for search forum) scroll down to transportation. You should get several posts that are fairly recent that might help you.

Good luck!

well I don't have any garbage to say but as an employee of air tran I would advise not flying them. but thats my personal opinion. their service out of pittsburgh is horrible. And I do not complain when the fares go high cause carriers like them pull out. I know when to buy my fares so with or without FL here it makes no difference to me.
you don't say when you want to fly however. what are your dates of travel?
