I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

This side of the resort had not yet opened.

Now we can look at Pop Century from a brand new angle.

I wanted to get pictures of all that was open as of that date.

I have not seen Cars, the movie, all the way through, but I have seen bits and pieces of it.

Cars fan or not, this section is pretty cool, don't you think?

Hope you are enjoying all of these pictures until then. :)

I wish this had a fence around it with one entrance/exit gate. You can't see the kids when they come out on the other side, and there's not a fence to keep them contained, so you kind of have to walk in circles around it to keep up with them.

IMG_2473.jpg

And back over at Pop.

IMG_2475.jpg

That's it for now. Night night, everyone!

Aww ...... you need to watch Cars all the way through. It is just precious !!

I so enjoyed the AOA tour this evening! Harper and Hunter would love seeing that resort...

I have to tell you that I'm in shock.
Baylor has decided that he wants to join us on the trip this summer.
Brook is checking with the cruise line to see if they can get him on the ship. He is most excited about Vero with your family!
I'm relieved not to be leaving him in Kansas for a month. Well that is if we can get him on the cruise...

I hope you get to watch all of Cars someday! I'm fans of both of those movies. :thumbsup2

That resort is just so awesome! They did such a wonderful job with it, at least from what I can tell from pictures!

Great AoA pictures! I got to see it during my latest trip in December when those sections were completed. It amazes me to think that we are getting to witness Disney history as WDW expands with resorts and attractions! I wonder just how different it'll be even in 10 years!

I bet you're in shock!! It'll be nice to see Baylor, I bet he can still get on the cruise.

I would so love to stay at AoA--Cars Wing for me!!! I love that movie and the theming is great at the resort. The theming of the entire resort is great! You could have a ball there and never leave the resort.

I remember when they opened Pop Century! Those buildings just kind of sat there for a few years after 9/11 and looked sad :worried: like the AOA buildings looked before they finally started work over there! Something is always changing at WDW!

AoA looks so neat! I've been really looking at their family suites online. Kinda spendy but very cool looking!

You definitely should watch Cars when you have a chance. It's a really cute movie. :)

PS: I'd love to pay 29 cents a gallon for gas as listed on that gas pump! Oh yeah! ::yes::

Such cool pictures of AoA - I'd like to go look around and eat there maybe. DH was looking over my shoulder and decided he would not want to stay there - no balcony. Was it you Memom who said that before?

It's beautiful though!

It is interesting to see and remember the changes since I've started going (only since 98). They do things so seamlessly that sometimes you don't even remember when things weren't there, or what was there before!

I will do that some day. I am not good at sitting down and watching a whole movie at once. I tend to wander around doing odds and ends and only catching bits and pieces. My kids will vouch for that. I think it annoys them. ;)

Great pictures!

Thanks, sir! It's a cool place.

Yes, they would, and that zero entry area pool and splash play area would be a hit, for sure.

Aw, Baylor is coming! That'll add to the fun!

At first I didn't pay any attention to Cars at all, but little by little, it's growing on me.

Look at all the changes that have been made in the past two years. So many new things to take pictures of. ::yes:: I have to get pictures of everything, because someday, this thing may become another thing, or it may disappear altogether. It will be interesting to watch. Maybe there will be a new moderate resort in the next ten years? That's a rumor that pops up consistently, as well as a new country in World Showcase.

I bet you're in shock!! It'll be nice to see Baylor, I bet he can still get on the cruise.

I hope they can get him in. If not, I wonder if he could fly down afterward.

I was excited to see pictures of the new French bakery's opening. I plan to be in Epcot day one of the March trip, so it'll be on of the first things i get pictures of, since I'll be sneaking in that private entrance back there. ;)

Definitely spendy. As long as we can get two rooms together, I think we'll stick with that at Pop, but if it begins to be a problem, we'll have to try a suite. I really need a balcony or outside door, though.

I remember gas at 29.9. That is the lowest I can recall it as, but I distinctly remember that number. I know it was less at some points in my earlier life, but that was before I paid attention to it.

Yes, ma'am. I neeeeeed a balcony, at the least, and I prefer an outside door, in general. The suites look cool, but I would not feel comfortable up there in the middle of a building with a long walk to an opening.

It's interesting to see old park maps to see how things have changed. Guessing about what, if anything, would ever happen across the lake from Pop Century is a done deal now. What should we guess about now - Avatar, Star Wars, Beastly Kingdom?

AOA is as bright and colorful as POP. I really enjoyed viewing them and hope to someday see them in person.

It is bright, colorful, and very well done. I tool more pictures in October, going in a building in all of the sections, since everything was open.

Does this mean it's really, really, really, really, really........wet?

IMG_2476.jpg

I am guessing we went up to the room to pick up/drop off things, since we didn't catch an AoA bus.
To the Pop bus top.

IMG_2477.jpg

Brooklynn was thrilled that she had made a purchase of a journal with a key lock. That was big stuff to her. ::yes::

IMG_2478.jpg

Since there was no one on our bus...

IMG_2479.jpg

she decided she would let Michael, the bus driver, sign it.

IMG_2481.jpg

I guess he wasn't in any hurry to get anywhere, because he took his time and treated her well, giving her some Disney transportation cards and make her an honorary driver.

Going in the front door.

That is rare for me, as we usually go in the Zawadi door.

This is why we had come to this place.

IMG_2498.jpg

Brooklynn is always asking to do the face painting, and this was a good time for us to do it.

IMG_2500.jpg

IMG_2501.jpg

IMG_2502.jpg

I'm sure you don't even recognize her, do you?

IMG_2503.jpg

She wanted me to send a phone picture to Anita so she would recognize her later when we went to Beach Club.

The pool looked very inviting.

IMG_2504.jpg

Unfortunately, we just missed this drumming lesson. They were just saying goodbye and leaving as we walked up.

IMG_2505.jpg

We did some animal watching.

IMG_2513.jpg

I was thinking maybe Kay and I could do that 4:30 tour about the history of the design of AKL in March.

The arcade.

IMG_2514.jpg

IMG_2515.jpg

IMG_2516.jpg

Love Brooklynn with the bus driver and the face painting!!

I think there's a lot to do at AKL too - in fact, I had wanted to do the culinary tour - it's at 4:30 every day and you tour Jiko and Boma and get samples. Plus it's FREE! Do you think I made it? Nah. Next time.

Next, it was time for some food.

IMG_2517.jpg

IMG_2518.jpg

Choices from the fridge.

IMG_2519.jpg

IMG_2521.jpg

IMG_2522.jpg

I got a salad, and Brooklynn got macaroni and cheese and a pawprint brownie.

IMG_2523.jpg

We have contributed to this fund often.

IMG_2524.jpg

Outside Boma, Brooklynn did get some drum lessons.

IMG_2525.jpg

And with that, we left Animal Kingdom Lodge. I had thought we might check out some activities at Kidani, too, but we did have some other things to get to that day.
