I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

The pics of Brooklyn and the bus driver are priceless...once again no people around. I think you need to come with us, you are the anti-crowds lucky charm. I kept thinking of your pictures of the studios last New Years when we were with a lot of people at AK!!

We dodge the crowds as much as we can, but we have been in parks doing the shuffle step a few times, too. We just leave and try again another time. it sure seems like this past Christmas got bad reviews from many, many people as far as the crowds. We're still going, but since Jill loves going in October so much, instead of the alternating October and December plan, we will consider an October - October - December pattern, most likely. I like October, too, but I will want to see Christmas things occasionally. It's easier for the guys to come and everyone seems to be able to get off easier during that time.

I just started reading your trip report yesterday, and I got caught up today! I always read your trip reports, but I never usually post anything.
The pictures of Brooklyn and the bus driver are just the sweetest, what a great memory! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness what a sweet, fun day! Love the bus driver and the face painting is absolutely adorable. How fun to just really enjoy all the resorts like this, I am loving it!

I had no idea there was a free culinary tour at AKL, kicking myself, I would have loved to have done that this summer! Need to remember it.

Don't feel bad Cynthia - I knew about it, wanted to do it, was staying there and still didn't manage it!

Ah but I had a non park day/afternoon/evening and it could have dovetailed perfectly! Oh well. The E's hit the pool and I had a lovely glass of wine instead. Could have been worse huh. Like I could have been with Jeff and Kendall returning the rental car.

Feel free to post, or as we see it 'join in the conversation'. :) We learn so much about from each other about Disney things that way.

Jill said that is was wild that I was at just this point in the pictures, because just a couple of days ago Brooklynn had a friend in the car with her, and she had her Tinkerbell journal and was telling her friend about the bus driver signing it.

There will be many next times, girls. ::yes::
And I would definitely rank it higher than returning a rental car.

The bus driver autograph was pretty cool and after the face pinting she looked like a performer from FOTLK.

Hope you're having a nice weekend!

KSchafer & I had a fun day yesterday. We drove over to Des Moines, did some shopping, eating & talking about Disney of course! :) We talked about NYE this coming year, and who would be able to be there as well. I'm in as long as I'm covered at work - I did some looking last night at rooms. We talked about getting a OHana dinner together for Dec 31st, so we talked about booking dining time at 180 days out for that. Who all is planning on being there on NYE?

I also got a new Cruise Line book & today I'm looking into excursions. I also need to decide on another dining choice for mom & I. Cal Grill is on refurb that time so that's out :(

Have a great day!

I love the pictures of Brooklynn and the bus driver, that is such a sweet interaction! Seriously, some of our best CM's have been the bus drivers. I remember one conducted a sing-a-long, and my mother was NOT happy because of course "The Wheels on the Bus" was one of them and it was all she ever had to sing at her old job!

Yesterday was three weeks till we leave...so tomorrow we're in the teens. It feels like it's flying by but at the same time like it'll never get here. Either way, I am soooo excited and especially excited to get to see Katie again!

She surely did. She was very pleased with her face and her paws. ;)

Talked Disney? Imagine that!

We are going to be in Disney World on NYE. We are normally at Poly beach, and I know our guys would love the 'Ohana idea. Someone had suggested doing that one on the night before and seeing Epcot's on NYE for a change. I don't guess we're committed to either one, at this point. If we want to do the webcam fun, we would need to stick with the Poly plan, but I am always in for seeing something new, too.

It;s so exciting that your wait is almost over! You and Katie will have a blast. I hope the weather is nice and warm. This sure would be a good week to be there, according to what I have seen.

I enkoy when we get a bus occasionally that has no one else or very few people, because the drivers do tend to talk a little.

To get to where we wanted to go next, back to Pop, we had to transfer again.

We took the opportunity to go insde the gift shop for a few minutes.
I was really on the prowl to buy a new AK or AKL t-shirt, but nothing ever spoke to me.

We went back to Pop for some rest.

I don't recall getting one of these,

but I won't deny that we might have gotten some ice cream.

IMG_2561.jpg

Otherwise, I don't know why I took the random pictures.

After a two hour rest, we headed back out. The original plan was to go to Beach Club, but there were storms in the forecast, so we decided we would stick close to home. I think Anita and I discussed that we would come over there the next day instead.

We went to a neighboring resort where we saw these pretty blue flowers. Someone who know what they are, go ahead and tell me, because I don't know flowers.

IMG_2562.jpg

I love the atmosphere of Caribbean Beach, and I still have not walked the entire resort.

IMG_2563.jpg

We roamed a little.

This plant I know - Bird of Paradise.

Aruba, Jamaica,
Oooh, I wanna take ya....

Spanish moss hanging from trees is one of my memories of living in Florida.

You can see the black clouds starting to roll in.

Such a pretty place.

We took our cousins over here for dinner one evening in October, because I think Sloan is really more of a moderate resort guy. I also knew he would love the music.

I was right. They loved it, especially Sloan. He smiled a lot, and he loved the music. I predict they will be staying here on a future trip. He is just beginning to understand the size and scope of Disney World.

Brooklynn and I planned to eat and then go out to the campfire.

Tomorrow night, if I am not exhausted from a Monday school day, we will eat some yummy food and go to a campfire. See you then!

I really wanted something from AKL as well when we were there this summer and nothing spoke to me either. I love the vibe of CBR, I think we'd enjoy it. Well, except for the double beds.

Icky clouds, hope they don't impact the campfire.

Epcot works good, too! I'm up for anything. Is Epcot not as wild on NYE as the MK?

I like the colors and the music at CBR, and they have a great food court.

I don't know about the wildness, but I just heard a lot of good things about the Epcot fireworks - this year more than ever. I would say we could do 'Ohana on the 30th, but I think the beach might even be more crowded then, because I think that's when a lot of the locals go. I don't know that we will do them two nights, though. I will leave it up to Jill. Whatever she want to do, I am fine with that. I will make sure she sees this and gives her input.

The blue flowering plant is called Plumago. Very pretty. I love them, too !!

I know I sound like a broken record, but the Epcot NYE fireworks were by far the best I've ever seen, I am so thankful that our schedule worked out that way. Also, if you have the time it is cool to see both the holiday illuminations at 6:40 and the NYE one at 11:40. Any questions you can always ask, we were there for 15 hours :)

Thank you, ma'am.

After thinking and thinking and thinking, I think I will toss my vote in for NYE at Poly beach. I like having the space to spread out, especially for the girls, and we'll have our webcam buddies with us. The guys are up for the idea of 'Ohana and entertainment on the beach, so we'll stick with the Plan A. Just tell me what we need to do when it comes to ADR time.

Just saw this. I think we were typing at the same time. Our friends, Dave and Kathy, are such kind hosts, and it is nice to have their lawn to spread our blankets out on. They have the room right there, so we have access to the bathroom. I know Trent and Jarvis want to do Poly beach, because that is what they know. I do eventually want to see those amazing Epcot fireworks, though.

I think so, too. I totally understand with what you know, I don't know when -or if- I will ever be there again on NYE's, but you can bet I will be at Epcot.

I will let you know when Brendan puts his video up on you tube and then you can watch that one and imagine that you were with us in Canada on NYE 2012..

Have a great Monday!

Yes, we definitely want to see the video! :cool1:

Did you see what they're doing in Canada with the new promotional?
