Can someone explain to me the whole Donald dinosaur breakfast thing is? Also, I have no idea where to eat (doing the dining plan), when to eat, when to make reservations, etc. I think this is the hardest part about planning the trip. By the way 2 adults, 4 y/o- (2) 6 y/o - (2) 10 y/o. All are very picky eaters. any help would be great.

Here is a link to a helpful site that will give you a lot of information, including menus and information on when and how to make reservations. You will get all kinds of differing opinions on restaurants on these boards--the best way to determine what your family will most enjoy is to read the menus!

Donalds Breakfastosauraus is a breakfast buffet at the Animal Kingdom theme park. You can make ADRs (reservations) the same way you would at all the other restaurants. It features Donald and the other traditional Disney characters--we go every year and love it!

Donalds Breakfastosaurus is a character meal in the AK. It is a fun a zany meal when the wait staff will play jokes on you there is also character interaction. It is a typical breakfast buffet. It is only done for breakfast and then the rest of the day it is a CS location.

As for other places to eat for picky eaters I would suggest any buffet meal. There are some fabulous buffets @ WDW. I would also recommend the Sci-Fi for a great place for the kids and you to get a fun meal.

If you can give us some ideas on what you like I know a lot of people could recommend a lot of great places. Or keep searching through the DIS. There are a lot of reviews on just about all the rest. in WDW.

Have a great trip!

Uh-Oh! What kind of jokes? We chose not to do Primetime or Whispering Canyon because my dh and dd's are not into that type of thing...it would make them too nervous to enjoy their meal. Did I make a bad choice in choosing Donald's??

No, don't cancel...staff is just fun, like most Disney restaurants...tell dh and dd to loosen up, they are at DISNEY WORLD!!!

Don't worry--not that kind of interaction at Donalds. We HATE Whispering Canyon (my daughter left in mid meal in tears one year), but we love Donalds. The CMs at Donalds are just very pleasant and have a great sense of humor.

Thank you! They are plenty fun loving...but just not into the "harrassment" type of fun! Honestly, *I would be upset too at Primetime probably if someone tried to spoon feed me something I didn't want! :rotfl: We have loads of fun at Disney...but enjoy more peaceful dining experiences! I'll stick with Donald's though, thanks!

Ok, now what are Primetime and Whispering Canyon? We will make sure we go to Donald. When do I start making reservations? My kids like hotdogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, mac & cheese, & spaghetti with no meat sauce. It is a lot of fun at our house at supper. Believe me. They will eat breakfast foods though. We obviously won't be doing any fancy dinners. Are there a few different buffet places? Thanks for the link. I will be checking that out next.

Thank you so much, estnh. The website is awesome. I just quickly looked at a few of the places. There is so much info and so much to choose from. I know everyone will find something they like everywhere. Plus, I knew of a couple of restaurants in MK, I had no idea there were so many. And I just looked at kid friendly ones. Thanks again.

Whispering Canyon - The theme here is zany, rowdy servers. Lots of practical jokes. For example, if you if you ask for a coke refill it might come in a huge bucket, or a tiny little shot glass. If you ask for ketchup, the server will announce it to the entire restaurant and you'll end up with 10 or 15 of them. If your cell phone rings, the server might announce to the entire restaurant that everybody needs to be quiet so that you can hear your caller. If somebody is caught sampling items off a family member's an all-you-can-eat skillet, that person might be "punished" by having to ride a stick horse around the store. Stuff like that happens all the time at this restaurant.

Prime Time Cafe - The theme here is "mother-like" servers. Examples of things that might happen here include being sent to the corner if you are caught chewing gum at the table, not getting any dessert until you eat your vegetables, getting yelled at if you're caught with your elbows on the table, etc.

Thanks for the tips. I am sure it is fun for some people, but that kind of stuff drives me crazy. I will make sure we don't go to either place.
