"I don't give out my last name"

LucyStorm, d.kurz, flrose,
I agree with you too. If I call up a company & give them my personal information, I feel I have a right to know to WHOM I just gave that information whether it's his name, an employee number, something. Not being given anything just calls his and his company's integrity and credibility into question for me.

How many of us have no problem writing a check at a grocery store & giving the clerk your name, address, driver's license, phone number, and your bank account number? And yet, giving your name to a customer of your own puts your personal security at risk? That just doesn't make sense to me.

I also find it ironic that companies don't want me to know who I'm dealing with, that's too personal, & yet have no problem turning around & selling my personal information telemarketers, spammers & junk mail distributors.

And the not giving a last name thing is BS! If companies want to do that, then they DO need to provide codes of some sort!!

Agreed.

Customer service is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Agreed again.
