So, you look at the TSS's inventory and you have a listing for BCV for $100 per point and then you scroll down the page and you get to Key West for $75 a point and some for even lower. Now, I understand the home resort booking advantage, but other than that 4 month window, what is the big deal where you own points? The KW points aren't worth less everywhere else right? Points are points basically aren't they?

So, why would I pay $100 per point in one place vs $75 per point somewhere else??

It is no different than purchasing a home, its supply and demand and location for what is hot. BCV is a hot property, and it is much smaller, therefore fewer resales available.

Now of course this person might not get what they are asking, because it is certainly higher than usual.

As to the booking window, at times you can get in at 7 months, but certain months and certain locations are becoming harder and harder to book at 7 months especially BCV, VWL and BW.

BCV is a samll resort and it is hard to get into unless you book early. If you do not plan more than 7 months out then all of the resorts are the same. The BCV is a small resort and it is very popular because of Stormalong Bay. Because people want the 11 month window BCV gets a higher price. Also the smaller resorts usually have a higher yearly maintenance fee so you need to factor that in where you decide to buy.

Also, if you don't care which DVC resort you stay at at WDW, go with the best buy (which is often OKW). However, if you really have your heart set on one particular resort, remember the mantra-"Buy where you want to stay". It really is true!

So, having never been to any of the DVC resorts, can I choose which one I want to always stay at?? :rotfl: In my head and heart, I agree that I am much more drawn to BCV than anywhere else. Thus I currently grapple with whether to go with SSR or try for resale of BCV.

Or, then my other option is Vistana resort offsite for about a third of the price, resale. :coffee:

I think the interest in paying so much more has to come from individuals that are either limited to what weeks (peak) they can travel or actually choose peak travel times and indeed want BCV for sure for these trips. It is a lot more money if you dont need to plan way ahead or need peak weeks or dont care where you stay. Since there are so few BCV resales, this pool of individuals only needs to be a few to push the price up-and the whole world (the real one) is where the pool comes from. Thats a lot of possible buyers that may have these criteria.

SSR also has a longer contract than any of the other DVC resort. Depending upon your age, if you see 40+ years of vacations ahead that could be a consideration and worth the price difference.
