I don't get "The Marriage Ref"

Jeff Bridges
Anne Bancroft/Mel Brooks
Patrick Swayze
Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward
Tom Hanks/Rita Wilson
Danny DeVito/Rhea Perlman
Michael J. Fox/Tracy Pollan
Kevin Bacon/Kyra Sedgwick
Jay Leno
Ron Howard
John Travolta/Kelly Preston
Michelle Pfeiffer
Denzel Washington
Steven Spielberg/Kate Capshaw
Kevin Kline/Phoebe Cates

Of course, I have no idea if any of these couples have fidelity issues.

Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld

I saw this show once, the premier. I don't think it is for marital advice, it's supposed to be funny. It's definitely not funny. I was cringing at how bad it was. Three ego laden celebs all trying to talk at the same time or outdo the other's jokes. It was really bad.

I wanted it to be funny but I was pretty bored by it. I'm watching again tonight tho because I love Larry David.

Are there any celebrities with good, long lasting marriages that are monogamous?

Realizing that some of these people were married previously:

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward
Dan Ayckroyd & Donna Dixon
Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson
Kevin Kine & Phoebe Cates
John Travolta & Kelly Preston
Warren Beatty & Annette Bening
Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick
Bill & Camille Cosby (1964)
Jay & Mavis Leno (1980)
Danny Devito & Rhea Perlman
Ron & Cheryl Howard (1975)
Michelle Pfeiffer & David E. Kelley
Meryl Streep & Don Gummer
Denzel & Paulette Washington (1983)
Michael J. Fox & Tracy Pollan
Julie Andrews & Blake Edwards
Rachel Ward & Bryan Brown
Paul & Linda McCartney
Iman & David Bowie
Kirk & Anne Douglas
James Garner & Lois Clark (1956)
Steven (Law & Order) & Rachel Hill (1967)
Susan St. James & Dick Ebersol
Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell
Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne
Jessica Lange & Sam Shepard
Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner
Vilma Banky & Rod LaRocque
Mary Pickford & Buddy Rogers
Harold Lloyd & Mildred Davis
Aleksándr Isáyevich & Natálya Svetlova
Moe Howard & Helen Schönberger
Bob & Dolores Hope

Watch the show, there is no advice. They just vote for who is right in a dispute between spouses and it's funny.

I think the show is silly and not funny and just whatever network pushing Jerry Seinfeld down our throats. I watched the first one. Its not really a marriage advice show but a "who's side are you on" show.

There is an issue and the celebs give their opinion on who they think is right.

:thumbsup2
not funny, way over hyped and prob won't last.IMHO...

silly show but I laughed about the lady would NOT allow her family to use the dining room table. It was all set up but just for looks and the DH didn't *get* it. I thought that was a weird quirky thing for the lady to be "fighting" for. People are so strange, lol

I thought the show was cute. When I watch TV I want light entertainment for the most part. I enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, you can almost say the same about the general public.:guilty:

Kirk Douglas, Ron Howard, Danny Devito, Michael Fox, Samuel Jackson, Bernie Mac (RIP), Tom Hanks, John Travolta, Angela Bassett, Kevin Bacon, Meryl Streep, Jay Leno, Dan Akroyd and Julie Andrews. Those are just some of the more high profile ones, but there are many, many actors out there that have been happily married for many years, just not as famous as the ones that I've mentioned;)

It's probably very hard to have a healthy relationship in Hollywood - heck, can you imagine just trying to have a normal date surrounded by paparazzi and Disers:rotfl2:

I found that kind of weird, but even weirder that the celebrity (I can't remember her name) was sticking up for her. As a millionaire she probably has a huge house with plenty of OTHER rooms for her husband to use so she can have a dining room table people aren't allowed to sit at. No one bothered to point out that it's probably pretty inconvenient in the case that was shown - simply because of space. I thought their "solution" of letting the wife "win" the inside argument and the husband "win" the outside argument was really quite wise though.

I've seen it twice, and although I didn't find it entertaining enough to seek it out, I'll watch it if it happens to be on when I'm looking for something to watch. I thought the things they picked were outrageous enough to not be taken too seriously, but humorously pointed out the kinds of things spouses really do squabble over.

I really thought I wouldn't like it, but watched it last week, and both DH and I thought it was really funny!

I thought the dining room lady was funny too. I loved when Tina Fey said he should decide that the bathroom is only for Easter to drive the point home :lmao:
