I think what was meant was in the context of reporting a story, like if Twitter is blowing up about a fire at WDW and they're looking into whether the Twittersphere is onto something or if a fire alarm malfunctioned on Carousel of Progress, was looked into and all is good.

I was not a huge Prince fan; I could probably name one or two of his songs.

But I absolutely understand why you could mourn the person while still not agreeing with his choices.

Oh, and maxaroni, I was going to see Harry Chapin play at Eisenhower Park on Long Island the night he died. When the guy I was dating called, I thought he was going to say he was stuck late in NYC at work.

Since you seem to be in the know about cool points, I find myself in need of official tabulation of mine.

I posted the thread on here about Prince's passing. Casual fan. His death caught me by surprise and took me back to high school and college days. I think it's sad & feel for his family and friends, haven't worn purple, gone into morning or shed a tear. I have no Facebook, Twitter or any other social media means of collecting cool points. I did text back and forth with a couple friends about memories as news spread.

What say you, one who seems to have a handle on motivations and most importantly, cool points? Have I at long last risen into the cool realm, or do I remain perpetually as uncool as ever?

Seems to me the keeper of the cool points is @gwynne I wasnt cool enough to be aware they exidsted until her post

I really don't get the mourning for Prince he was a singer, he killed himself by taking pills and yet people are so upset over his death. I don't get the IDOL worship for singers and actors. I would rather honor the Military and all first responders who are killed because of the Job they do not because they Sang a song. I guess I am just disgusted by the hero worship for these people who get a 4 or 5 page thread and a post on a Cop who was murdered in the line of Duty gets maybe a page or 2 response. It really makes me question some people's values and morals.

I find it incredibly funny that you are writing this post on a message board that is devoted to people's love (I'm guessing, yours included) of Disney World. I mean, shouldn't you be expressing your concern for people's values and morals on a message board for a charity supporting the families of those whose family members have been lost? Why so frivolous a place as The DIS?

Perhaps that mirror of morality you're holding up is a little distorted...questioning another person's grief is not a very good indication of the other person's morals, empathy or judgment.
