I agree with all of the above, and to add to the list are the "new" telemarketers.
They call saying they are doing surveys. THEN ask incredibly personal questions!
They NEVER ask if I'm interested in answering their questions. They go something like this:
Them: Is xyz home?
Me: This is she
Them: What interest rate are you paying?
OR
Who is your insurance carrier?
OR
How much are you paying for long distance?
OR
What is your mortgage payment right now?
Me: What can I do for you?
Them: Oh, we're just doing a survey.......proceed to ask personal question again.
Me: I don't give out personal information over the phone.
HANG UP.
Geez! Don't these people have any manners? Do people actually ANSWER these questions simply because someone on the phone ASKED?
I am just amazed at the audacity of some of these people, and their surprise when I won't give them the answers they are looking for.
