I don't consider corn a "seasonal vegetable"

That is the point really. I do not expect the food courts to be overly nutritious. I am happy if they offer a decent salad and a non fried protein to put on it. I do on occasion serve corn to my picky eating husband, but I rarely eat it unless it is in season. Where I live that is mid to late July to early September only and then it is a treat. The sugar/carb count in corn is significantly higher than any dark green vegetable which of course is much healthier for you. As I said though it is a food court, so.....................

corn is cheap. corn is delicious. corn is easy to prepare, serve and holds up well if not served immediately. many people, kids and adults alike, love corn. if kale were easy, cheap and beloved it would be what they are serving at the food court.

I like the title of the post, I was expecting one of those funny food trip reports

People are actually this fussy at a value resort food court? While in vacation for what...a week? Have mercy!
Not sure if I was supposed to read this like the uncle on Full House, but I did :rotfl:

I read...

I thought...

Cold cases? Has this been brought up a lot? Are there old threads? Why are they referring to old, unclosed police investigations?

Teacher-brain... like eggs, it’s fried & scrambled.
Mom brain right here with ya teacher brain because I did the same thing :thumbsup2

I am looking forward to our week at the values on the qsdp and a meal or two with corn as the veg is fine but I do agree that a nice fresh green veg is a better choice - I have definitely read the menus to make sure we will get some veggies while on vaca (as well as packing some snacks that are healthy too)

I probably eat healthier than 80% of people. I love vegetables. I'd rather have some radishes, peppers, cauliflower or carrots to snack on than french fries any day of the week. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I love fish - especially shrimp, crab and fish fillets. I despise processed food. I do not even like most fast food crud. It's not hard to avoid eating it. I've never liked fried food.

But if I eat some corn I am not going to have a meltdown that my life has been destroyed. Get a grip people. Eating some corn for a healthy eater is not the same thing as an alcoholic having a slug of gin.
