Our local radio station was doing a remote at McDonalds today for the victims of Katrina. I felt so good handing them that check.

Have my check ready to go but found out Lowe's was doubling it so will be passing it in there today.

I put a flyer up at my business asking our members to donate also and you can't believe the size of the checks they are giving me to donate. I am bringing another batch of checks to the radio station tomorrow. It warms my heart to see how generous others can be :goodvibes

I did today & I hope to do so again as I can in the next few weeks and months. I expect my corporation to come up with some kind of employee matching thing in the next little while--they usually do. That will be a nice way to maximize a donation. :sunny:

I did yesterday and I am trying to find out if my company will match.

Not today, but wrote out some checks on Sunday that went in the mail with matching funds paperwork Monday. Over the weekend I'll take a look at our finances and see what more we can send to who.

Anne--that is such a good point!!!

I wonder how that works when you take a donation to a drop off point? For example--Lowe's is matching, so the donation would be 3x as much!

I wish there was a way we could set up a poll so that people could click to say how much they gave annonymously. I'm interested to see how much DIS members can raise.

Chris is finding out today what his company is doing and I'm going to find out what Gymboree is doing. I would rather get our contributions doubled/tripled if I can. Gymboree doubled donations for the Tsunami so I would hope they would do the same for NO. If they are doing nothing, we'll swing by Lowe's.

I was going to give - but my two cousins and their families were living in Baton rouge and they are now homeless and jobless. So since they will more than likely be coming here to NC I will wait and give my money directly to them.

So sorry about them!

Nothing wrong with a direct donation to those in need. :grouphug:

I donated today. My company will be matching all Red Cross donations dollar for dollar, so that’s really nice. Goodness knows the victims need it!

I haven't yet, I am waiting to see if our employers will match and what other groups we belong to will match. Might as well get as much out of our donation as we can. I didn't think waiting a couple of days will hurt if we can get 3 or 4 x's the amount.

Donated to the Red Cross via the web yesterday.

The company I sell for gave a million yesterday.
