But why do I get stuck with doing their job?? I know my benefits very well, yet the dentist office gives me the wrong benefits and the insurance company gives the wrong info....what's wrong with that?? Why do I have to keep repeating myself and then they tell me, oh yeah...wait a minute, you are correct.
I HATE THAT!!! I don't work for neither one of them and I have to do their job?? might as well pay me for it! :mad:
Sorry but they do this to me every single time, except now I know better and I don't get stuck with surprise bills!
 
Doctors offices and insurance companies alike are getting lazy these days. When I worked at am Imaging Facility we verfiied benefits, obtained precert--when we could, filed claims and did claim follow up. I have been a sahm now for 3 years. I have come across drs offices that want me to do claim follow up for them. ALl tehy hve to do is pick up the phone and call just like me, not to hard to do but they want you to do the work for them. I have told an office if they wanted to get paid they would call if not guess they didnt need the money. You would think they would want to follow up closely since you cannot bill the member on many POS/HMO plans when the carrier does not pay or the claim is denied.
 
I know many times with insurance companies that if you called 5 different times, you can get 5 different answers:confused: Do you have your ins handbook? I would refer to that for your coverage. 4great boys is right about not billing if you went where your ins has a contract. I believe ins has to write off the rest. Most people don't appeal the claim when they should.
 
LOL! Insurance companies are definitely fun to deal with. We recently had claims denied saying we had no insurance...around the same time they sent us new cards and were continually taking premiums out of DH's paycheck.

Dont you just love when you know someone else job better than they do? That happened at WDW last summer. We were leaving MK for a break and asked if it rains do they still do FITS? The CM at the gate told us there was no FITS that night and they were closing at 6:00. I said no, you are closing at 8:30 and FITS is scheduled. He proceeded to go on with his spiel about weekdays(this was a Fri), and how Spectro and FITS are only on weekends, etc... I was now getting upset as this was our last night and we had been planning it all week. I said its on the internet, its on the park maps and it was on the sign when I came in a few hours ago. After a few more go rounds, I finally got the "Well, let me check....". Guess who was right?
