I know there have been pins and GP discounts for the summer but no AP yet. right? thanks Jill

I'm waiting too, no you didn't miss it. But General Public is out and it isn't a very deep discount at all.

I'm hoping to add a few nights before our DVC stay, and naturally, I want to save some money!

I wish AOA would get discounted. Maybe with the AP. We'll see.

On the mousesavers website, you can check when Disney has historically released summer AP rates. It appears they are not released until after the last week of April or the first week of May for stays in late June and July. And they are not release until the last week of June for stays in August.

I have my reservations, but it is so hard to wait for a discount! We are going mid-August, and there is not much out there right now. I have my AP, and I am hoping!

Nope. I'm still waiting for a July FL resident or AP code. Right now I have a AAA rate that is better than the GP rate.

probably a stupid question but do you have to book through AAA to get the discount or can you book it yourself and get a AAA rate.

You can book it directly through CRO.

I just tried to book an AP rate through the website with a voucher and it says the pass isn't valid. Of course it isn't because it's a voucher. Guess this means I'll have to call CRO. Was just hoping to do it online.

I didn't even think to look up AAA rates. They're better than the discount? That's great news. Still hoping the AP rate is even deeper!;)

I always call Disney directly for AAA rates. That way it is easy to change/cancel/add AP rates later. If you book it with AAA you won't have that flexibility.

What is the discount they give you for AAA? And do you just have to give them the # off your card?

I made my July reservations using the GP code. I asked the CM about AP rates and she said that she did not hear anything about them yet, but from her experience they should be released soon. Just keep watching.

Honestly, I don't know the % off with AAA. I just know it was better than the rack rate and turns out it is better than the GP rate. Yes, they will ask for your AAA# when you book and also for your card when you check in. For me, I am just holding the ressie with the AAA rate and hoping for a better AP or FL resident rate that will be better and can be applied.

Just keep swimming! :fish:

What kind of AAA rates are you guys getting that you find it worth booking over the GP rate?

CSR one night... came out to $21 more than the GP rate. I'm going to keep waiting till AP rates come out, hopefully better than the GP rate and worst case is the same.

ASMOvies... our last night I DID end up going with the AAA rate... which did actually save me $8.54 more than the measely GP rate did (Rack $163/GP $155 and AAA $146.46) Woohoo, I'm rich now, lol - hey, any savings is better than nothing!

That is how I feel about our POP ressies. I will go with the lowest rate, no matter what the difference. If AAA saves me a couple of bucks, that's the one I'm going with. Why pay more for the same room? I think of it as a game to save. Otherwise it is like throwing money out the window. But I really want the APs to come out!

I called and applied the AAA rate to the WL ressie we have in June. Saved me a bit more since the GP for the WL is only 5%. If an AP rate comes along I will just call again about that.

What do you think the chances are that the AP rate will include end of August too? I'm anxiously awaiting the summer AP rate but I'm afraid that once it comes out, it will only go through mid-August (like the GP rate now) and I reeeeally want something for end of August! Don't want to have to wait even longer!
