I bought a cheap vacuum cleaner. And I'm sure within a year or two, it'll probably break and we'll have to buy a new one. But we desperately needed it and with me being out of a job, DH thought it was wise to buy a cheapie for the time being.

It's a Hoover bagless with a folding handle and 4 onboard attachments. Except for the fact that it was extremely cheap (70 bucks), I really like it. No more changing horrible bags. That always made me nervous anyway..never sure if I was getting them on right, or if they were going to stay on. Now all I have to do is lift the handle and take the filter out so I can dump the dust in the garbage. :teeth:

The silly thing is that you'll probably find that cheap vacuum will last you forever :confused3

Enjoy your new bagless vacuum :thumbsup2

Ooh! I love my bagless! But it makes me feel like my house is filthy, with all the stuff it sucks up!

We wouldn't have done it if our old vacuum hadn't started acting up. Every time I turned it on there was a horrible vibration in the entire unit, a disgusting burning smell and it had started spitting things back out instead of picking them up.

We tried changing the bag and unclogging as much of the inner bit where the dust goes as possible. But it still was vibrating badly and making that smoke smell. So DH went to Lowes and picked up the cheapest vacuum he could find.

I know we emptied the dustcup at least 2X when we first vac'd the living room with it. I knew my carpet looked cruddy, but I had no idea that much crap was in it!

I like cheap disposable stuff.

Then, in two years, when/if it breaks, you can get a BRAND NEW ONE, and not feel guilty!

Enjoy!

Once you go bagless you'll never to back. :rotfl: Sorry I couldn't resist. I do love my vacume. It always amazes me how fast the canister fills up with dirt. When I use to have a vacume with a bag I didn't change it too often. Yuck. :rolleyes2

I had to buy a toaster a couple years ago right around Christmas time when there is no extra money....I found a $5 toaster at Target (can't remember brand name right now) but it's been a GREAT toaster! Have had it a couple years already! So you may be vacuuming with that baby for years to come!

I bought a top of the line Hoover about 5 years ago or so and have been very happy with it! If fact, it works so well I can't justify buying the Dyson that I want! ;)

It's funny, stuff always breaks when we can't afford it to, but works forever when we WANT it to break!

Yeah, that's what we're doing. This is just a bandaid to get us through till we can afford that Dyson. Cuz I really, really want one. I've seen demos at DH's store and I'm like hot diggity! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 I have decided for us that's the way Murphy's law works around here.

I had a good vaccum cleaner (or so I thought - read $$$$ - went to a speciality store to try out different models, etc..), I figured with 4 kids, 2 cats & lots of carpeting I wanted something that lasted. It broke recently and it never really did work that great.

This time I just went and read reviews bought a $150 one (so not as cheap as $70) but the thing works way better than the previous one and I'm thinking it will last forever because I went cheap and don't know if it will hold up. :rotfl2:
