Hi guys. I'm a newbie to the DVC. Last weekend my husband and I were at DW while he played in the USSSA softball tourney hosted by Disney's WWoS. Sadly his team lost on Friday and were out of the tourney, but on the good side it gave up the opportunity to take our daughter (14 months) to Epcot on Saturday. We had a blast.

As we were walking around Epcot, we decided to take the boat over to BWV and look around. Fromt here were decided to participate in the DVC presentation, and were whisked away to SSR. We have friends who are DVC memebers, and we went on a trip with them in 2006 to HHI, so we knew about most of the DVC workings. Needless to say, it didn't take much convincing, and my husband admits that once he saw the low price (he thought it cost much much more) he was convinced to sign up. So now we are new members with 160 points and AKV. Along with a bonus incitive points of 160.

Yipee! I see many great vacations ahead wwith our daughter -- umm once she gets over her fear of the characters -- poor thing, did not enjoy her charactaer spot experience at Epcot last weekend.

Anyway, my husband got the idea to use some of our incintive points after Christams, but I called and nothing is available. However I went ahead and booked a studio at SSR for our trip we plan to take in April (even before we decided to become DVC members).

I am getting so much out of these boards, and thank you guys for being around.......

.....now if anyone has any ideas about trying to get my after Christmas ressie, I'd appreciate it. It's my understanding that my incintive points can only be used at SSR.....is this correct?

That is correct as far as WDW incentive points- OR you can use them w/ II or Disneyland- When you booked for April did you use the developer points then? You should have if you are not sure if you will be staying again w/in the next year- The developer points are good for 1 yr-
Congrats BTW on your purchase and
Welcome Home!

Hooray and Welcome home neighbor!!

We bought when our first son was just shy of a year and now I call that contract "Carlin's contract." Now we have boy #2 and so we added more and call that one "Jackson's contract." With one being 3 1/2 and one being 9 months so many memories have been/will be made for our family w/ our DVC stays!

Here's to brainwashing.....er, I mean introducing young kids to Disney and DVC! :rotfl:

Yes we used the developer points for April. Being that we got these incentive points, and the times we have available to go, it looks as though we will always bank a year's worth of points. That will be great when I choose to go to Hawaii.

It also occured to me today that since we will have open incentive points still to use, my husband and I can go watch the Braves play one weekend for Spring Training. We were going to do that this year.

Having these points is kinda fun, now I'm thinking of excuses to go and get away. Since our AKV points can't come into play until May, maybe next year we can do Christams with Grandma (my mom) and Grandma & Grandpa (my in-laws) at DW.

You're hooked! I don't even have a crystal ball and I can see an add on in your future.
