Can anyone actually tell me do we really need to carry photo I.D. now. When we were last in Florida in 99 ,we never carried I.D. anywhere.

I was asked for it on entering Disney resorts last October, and have sometimes been asked for it when paying by travellers cheque.

I have taken photocopies of the passport page with the photos and date of birth etc. then laminated them. They fit easily into my 'bum bag' and have always been accepted when we have been asked for ID. That way we can keep our actual passports locked in the safe and if we did happen to lose our passports at least we would have all the details (passport No's etc.) on us.

We have needed photo ID when entering WDW resorts (although only by car) and for evidencing age when buying alcohol.
