Hey Unc! I'm doing my hair on Friday, so I'll post them then. So glad you popped in though!

OH! I can report, that after the numerous Christmas parties I've been to, everyone seems to like my hair! I'm really surprised! I've had no crazy comments this season! AND one of my cousins started his in June, so his hair is a little longer than mine.

So stay tuned for update pics by the end of the week!

Hey everybody! It's been 4.5 Months since I started locing my hair!
I just did my hair yesterday. This time I changed products. I used to use this:

It's thick, and it smells GREAT - like juice! It also has GREAT hold, without making my hair feel stiff. But, it was a bit heavy, and left my hair a bit greasy.


This time, after spotting it at my friend's house, I bought this:

This gel is lighter, it smells good, but not DELICIOUS like the other stuff, and I like the way my hair feels after it dries. Hopefully it'll have good hold, and my hair won't look super fuzzy after a few days.



Here's me with the shampoo in my hair:

After washing, retwisting, and sitting under the dryer (about 30mins), here are the results:

In the morning, after my hair's been tied up all night, it's kinda stuck to my head. So to "wake it up", I mixed a spritz of water and aloe. I massage my scalp for a minute or two, then start getting ready for the day. Here's the spritz:

The day after I wash my hair, my scalp is a little dry from sitting under the dryer, so I use just a little of this, which also smells like you wish you could drink it!

By it being Winter, I wear hats everyday, and I know I'm drying out my hair, so every 3 days or so, I'll moisterize my scalp. I found a T-Tree moisterizer that's water-based, so it doesn't "gook" up my hair. It's real thin/watery, white and smells a bit like mint. It feels a bit like how your chest feels when you put Vick's on it - like my scalp is taking a BIG, DEEP breath!

Well, I'll see how this new gel works. Hopefully my hair will hold up as well as did with the other product I used to use.

So far, I'm really enjoying my hair. It's fun figuring out what products to use, and seeing my hair thicken and change each month. Also, it's REALLY great being able to wear hats without worrying about "hat hair"! I'M FREEEEEE!!!!

She joined us on a company sponsored cruise recently, and the "can I braid your hair lady?" girls had a grand time putting beads on the ends of her hair ! Her hair is growing into the braids amazingly fast, I had no idea what the process entailed until reading your thread and seeing it up close with LaShunda !

Good Morning DISers!

In an earlier post, I mentioned that when I first wake up, my hair is kinda stuck to my head. So before I get in the shower, I use a spritz I made with Aloe and Water to "wake-up" my hair.

Well, this morning I actually grabbed the camera to take pics of how it looks all stuck to my head. . .

After getting out of the shower, my hair is a bit more alive . . .

Since I just did my hair yesterday, it lays on my head a bit. But by the end of the week, it'll puff out a bit. And by the end of next week, I'll have a funky spike-like Afro! I love it! So I'll try to take more pics then.

(Sorry if ALOT of this info is boring, but alot of this is for me to look back on.)
