I am stoked! I know it is FOREVER until we go but I am so excited!! Until we can actually book the trip this is the next best thing! Money goes in.... and I feel like we are actually getting somewhere with the planning!!!

Congrats! That's really exciting. I actually think it's quite awesome that you're spending so much time saving before your trip. I have feeling most of us (especially in these times) aren't being so fiscally responsible.

Have fun planning. Hope you'll stay on the the DIS for a long time (up until the trip!) I started "DISing" when I booked in November and in these short months I think I'm going to have the best trip ever! I learned so much!

I know how you feel. I've started planning for our family's first WDW trip in September 2010 (about 19 months away). Especially so I would have an idea of cost so we could start saving every month. Do you know when you are actually booking your trip? Have you decided where to stay?

We know that we are going back to Disney World every Summer so I start saving as soon as we get back from our WDW vacation. If there is any money left from our trip, I immediately put it aside for the next trip. I have a Vacation jar at home and I stick money aside for our spending money. I am a seller on ebay and all of the net proceeds from my sales goes to pay on our vacation package. As soon as I receive a $20.00 or more payment from an ebay customer, I make a payment on our vacation. Love doing this because it feels like a Disney vacation on layaway.

Thank you! We are the WORST when it comes to saving money. If it isn't in a savings we can usually find something we need to buy. LOL

We are in complete agreement that the trip is to be paid in full (no credit cards) and the savings should cover our expenses while we are there. Or the whole time DH will be worried about how much we are spending. If it is already alloted and paid for we can relax!!!!

I think we might have to get a Disney savings account too! We've also got over a year to go. Good that you're putting the money aside beforehand, so you can fully enjoy your trip and not worry about credit card debt!
