I couldn't wait any longer so I called (AP Grades)

Well I've been waiting since May to get my AP grades and I finally got so impatient I called and shelled out 15 bucks to get my scores.

I got a 3 on my German Language test (I thought I did better) and a 4 on my English Literature & Compositition test (I thought i did MUCH worse!).

Since I know nothing about AP scores, what is the rating scale?

My DD has been wondering about her AP history grade, too! When do they normally notify you of your scores??

They notify anytime during the month of July.

Here is the scoring system:
5 — extremely well qualified
4 — well qualified
3 — qualified
2 — possibly qualified
1 — no recommendation

The AP Program periodically conducts college grade comparability studies in all AP subjects. These studies compare the performance of AP students with that of college students in the courses for which successful AP students will receive credit. In general, the AP composite score cutpoints are set so that the lowest composite score for an AP grade of 5 is equivalent to the average score for college students earning grades of A. Similarly, the lowest composite scores for AP grades of 4, 3, and 2 are equivalent to the average scores for students with college grades of B, C, and D, respectively.

Congrats on the 3 and 4-- all that really matters is that you get the credit, right?

She will get credit yes - and if it's a 3 or higher (is that right, Norah??) - she gets the $80.00 cost of the exam refunded.

Well, that's cool. They didn't do that when I took it eons ago.
