We are going to be in FL one day before our cruise. We don't plan on going a park, we have an overnight flight and I expect we will be tired. We just want a relaxing day at the resort. We have always stayed at POFQ. I love that it has such easy access to downtown disney for meal options and we have access to the pools at both POFQ and POR. I want to try something different but yet I keep thinking one of the Port Orleans is the best.

So any other suggestions for me?

I kind of want to try a value so we can decide if we like it enough to stay there for a week, if we don't like it, its just one day, so seems like a good time to check out a value. The pool area I'm sure will be just fine for us, my girls just like to swim, they don't need fancy slides or care about the decorations. I care about the eating options. Is there just one quick service place to eat at? If we wanted to get dinner somewhere else do we need to take the bus to a park and then switch buses to get to a different resort? Is there a bus that goes from a value to DTD?

Any other moderate hotel I should check out? Do any of them have a table service restaurant? Would we be in the same situation as with a value having to take a bus to a park and switch to get to another resort or DTD?

Anything else I should be considering when deciding?

I feel that POFQ is the best mod resort because of it's size and proximity to DTD. I love the boat ride both to POR & DTD.

As for the other mod resorts I'm not impressed, they are just too big.

None of the value resorts have a table service restaurant. They all have a food court, but if you wanted a table service you would have to take a bus somewhere.

I would stick with POR or FQ. With the boat to DTD and great dining options there, not to mention evening entertainment it's hard to beat.

To get to another resort, yes, you would have to take a park bus or get to DTD and transfer to a resort bus. Unless you stay at one of the Deluxe MK or Epcot resorts that have easy access to the other resorts in that area.

We (family of 4) always stay at Old Key West, one or 2 nights, before heading to Port Canaveral. :thumbsup2

My husband and I stayed at ASMu in August. There's quick service available (food court style) but no table service. However, there is a bus to DTD so you could very easily go there to eat and enjoy the stores.
