My uncle died and his funeral will be tomorrow. He was 92 and in poor health, so it's not a surprise. More like the end of an era. He and my aunt were like my grandparents and now they're both gone.
My father's (88) having minor surgery on Wednesday and won't be able to drive afterward. My mother hasn't driven in years. Neither of my sisters think they can get off work, so I might as well drive the 4.5 hours, go to the funeral, then stay to take Dad to his appointment and then come home Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Not a biggie, but I have a kabillion committee things I'm supposed to get done this week so I've been working like crazy this morning and I'll do a lot of driving around this afternoon, dropping stuff off. Dd's teacher conference is at 4:00 and she's a good student but I feel like I should go to the conference and then leave town. I hate driving alone at night on 2.5 hours of 2 lane highway.
And on top of it....I remembered this morning we had tentatively scheduled a WDW trip for this week last summer but decided to forget it and save the money.
I could have been in WDW today!!!! :sad1:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Take a deep breath and write down what you need to get done from most important to least important. And then tackle them one at a time. Remember in years to come, a lot of these little things are not going to be remembered, but knowing you were there when your parents needed you, that you will remember!

:grouphug: The right thing is never the convenient thing, is it. Be good to yourself this week. I heard all the Mickey BArs melted last night, so this week is probably terrible at WDW

I don't have any problem helping out my parents. This was more a "when it rains it pours" kind of vent.

Ann, how about more than one hug?

I'm sorry, there is so much on your plate. After all this you need to do something for yourself!

:grouphug: :grouphug: Cancel the teacher's conference.............it'll make the list slightly more manageable...........believe me, it's done all the time. I'm a teacher, and I've had to cancel parent conferences today because I'm out sick

Is there someone else that would serve as a pickup spot and you could leave what needs to be dropped off there, leave messages to all where to get it? Just a thought, might not work.............. :grouphug:

Thanks, I needed that chuckle. :)

Take a deep breath, re-focus, and move through it. It's all you can do. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope he enjoyed his life.

I wish. I have to take lettering info to all 4 high schools. I'm the only Mom who doesn't "work" on the committee so they all jumped with their reasons "they" couldn't do it. I said at the time it was no biggie for me to drive around. Now it is.

Thanks for the hugs everybody. :)

awww..here's another :grouphug: would you like a nice picture to cheer you up? :teeth:

Awww Ann.... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: You are in my thoughts today. Anything I can do? I know I'm far away but....well, I'm here.

I'm so sorry everything seems to be happening at the same time, Annie.

(Not meaning to make light of your family stresses, but when I read your title, I thought you needed the hug for the Hawkeyes terrible football game on Saturday . . .)
