Hi all,
I'm still a newbie here, and today was my first legitimate day to start eating right and exercising. I read the post about running, would love to do it, but not yet. Running from the parking lot in the pouring rain into my work leaves me a bit winded, so running will have to wait.
So my fear...... being in public wearing a bathing suit.
My daughter swims all the time and wants me to swim with her and I was always nervous of staring people. I mean really, if you don't look like a swimsuit model , which most people don't, then it should still be ok to wear what you want. I live by the ocean and haven't been to the beach in years. My daughter goes with her aunt or I go, but wear clothes.
Not today. I went swimming at the ymca and loved it. And my daughter was so happy to be swimming with me. True , I kept my shorts on with my suit and I had to use a kickboard and flippers to get moving but I swam for almost an hour.
So if you're holding back like I was because I was afraid of what people would think of me, then don't. It's an incredibly freeing and fullfilling feeling.
Good luck to you all!
