I can't wait for spring!

Spent the last couple of weeks removing annuals, adding lots of organic matter to my soil.

Yesterday I planted over 500 spring bulbs. Took me all day it looks so barren. Now I need to control my excitement for six months.

500 bulbs wow, I get tired just planting 25 of them can't imagine all that hard work. You deserve a massage and I'm sure your hard work will pay off once you start to see all of your beautiful flowers.
What sort of bulbs did you plant?

I spent the day digging and moving plants around in my front garden. It looks really good right now. I too can't wait until spring to see how everything looks in bloom.

Mamu! You are unbelievable! 500 bulbs! On top of the clearing out and adding mulch, etc., and decorating for fall and Halloween! I still never weeded my Kousa dogwood/azalea bed! The weeds are nearly as tall as the dogwood tree!


I hope you have a hot tub that you can soak in afterwards? ...... 500 bulbs..... unbelievable!....... That's just great...... I'm feeling kinda shamed here.... Take pictures this spring. We wanna see the beautiful show!!

I hope you have the bulb planting attachment for you drill. My like sister friend and I bought 200 bulbs for my mother for her birthday. We are spending the day with her next week to plant them. I have the little hand held bulb planter but my friend has an attachment that goes onto a drill. We'll be using that. Thankgoodness.

I've never planted more than 200 bulbs at one time, Mamu. I'm impressed. I think the hardest part isn't the planting, it's the "waiting"

We planted my mothers birthday bulbs at her house the other day and had a blast. It turned out to be close to 250 bulbs. We planted the small crocus with just a digger but for the bigger tulip, daffodil and iris we used the drill attachment. We laughed and grunted like Tim Taylor on Tool Time. It is so much fun to garden with a friend. My mother sat on the porch steps and watched our antics. I think she had a really fun time too.

I'm sure your Mother appreciates all your hard work, and enjoyed watching you plant, and listening to your 'grunts'.

It should look awesome in the spring!

What sort of mix do you have? Mostly, tulips, daffodils, or something else?
