Araina... I cannot believe I missed your update!
Super happy that you could handle ToT... It is the one ride I refused to ride until our last trip, and my girls drug me on... I couldn't believe that I love it, and I was a bit sad when dd was sick on our last day, and I couldn't ride it a second time.
Bummer about RnR being down... Love the pre-show, the ride, not so much.
LOL about Nini stalking you (she's like that sometimes)... And she is quite sly - you don't even feel like your are being stalked.
Hmmm... I wonder if you ever found the other bag you were looking for?
And I love all of your food pictures... thank you for taking the pictures before you "destroy" your food though... However, I think you need to do befores and afters in the future - LOL
Some day I hope to do a solo trip too... Although, I think my solo trip would end up being a Dismeet - because I am too social (and cheap) to ever go completely alone.

ToT is such a great ride. Glad you can "stomach" it now!
Your resort pictures are gorgeous. I wish I could take such great pictures. I am a horrible photographer. DH does better than I do, but since we only have a point and shoot camera our pics are never such a beautiful work of art that I see on the Disboards all the time.
And Disney food porn....
I definitely have a new love for ToT, it's so much better when you don't come off feeling queasy! I can't wait to ride it again.
Thanks on the pictures! But I just have a little point and shoot, I don't know how exactly I get the pictures to come out. My camera is a Canon Power Shot SD1300IS (I had to get it out because I had no idea what it was). If I remember correctly, I picked it because it was a pretty blue color.
More food porn coming up in the next installment! I'm hoping to get it up tomorrow but I've got a lot on my schedule so it might have to wait till Monday.

I actually did not like ToT before this trip but now I love it!
Nini was sly for sure! She said she saw me two or three more times and I never noticed. Guess I was just too focused on all the wonderful Disney stuff around me.
Stay tuned on the bag! I will say that I did get a D&B this trip but I'm going to wait till the end to revel which one!
(that's my evil laugh).I'll have to remember to do before and after pictures with my food. I spend a lot of time picking stuff off! I want to do lunch at BoG but I'm going to have to pick a lot there.

(no this isn't weird, I almost invited myself on a trip with my Boss' sister and nephew who I've never met. Any reason to go to Disney, right?). I'm going to ask the boss tomorrow for the time off in March so fingers crossed for me. I'm almost sick to my stomach worried that she will say no. Haven't told DH yet either but he will be easier because I can handle him.

More about that later, for now on with the TR.
Since I didnt take very many pictures this day, Im going to just finish it up with this post.
After lunch, we headed over to LMA and they were just starting to load everyone into the theater (or is it a stadium, that place is huge!) I snapped a few pictures while we were waiting for it to start:
I love how you can see so many of the iconic buildings from there. I know you can see Spaceship Earth too but we were at the wrong angle:
The show started and I took a few more pictures:
Lightning McQueen and his nemesis (last time I saw the show it was Herbie):

In that first one I was trying to get the car jumping from one truck to the other but snapped it a second too soon. Mom really enjoyed the show and wants to take my Brother and SIL to see it when we go in January 2014. While I still really enjoyed the show, the first time was much better. This time I knew all the secrets of the show and wasnt as amazed.
After we filed out of the bleachers, we decided to head back to RnR to see if it was working yet. It was up and it had a wait time of 40 minutes or a fast pass return of 5:30 (it was right around 2 pm). Well, I made the absolute wrong decision (rookie mistake!!) of getting in line instead of getting fast passes. I was still frustrated with running all over the park and didnt want to have to come back down to RnR a third time to use fast passes. I thought that the wait time would probably be less than the 40 minutes. Boy was I wrong! An hour and ½ later we finally got on the ride!
I did snap a few pictures while waiting.
Once again I didnt get a picture of our ride photo. I did try but forgot to turn off my flash and all I got was a reflection of the flash. By the time I got the flash turned off, the picture was gone. I wish I had gotten this one because it was hilarious! I decided at the last minute to put my hands up but didnt get them all the way up so it looked like I was doing some kind of weird jazz hands pose. And mom, well she was screaming at the top of her lungs so she looked pretty funny as well.
By the time we got off of RnR and browsed in the dump store it was 3:45 and I knew we wouldnt make the 4 pm American Idol show like I planned. We slowly made our way up Sunset Blvd. We stopped for some bottles of water and also in the Villains store. Mom found a night shirt with the Evil Queen from Snow White that she really liked so she bought it. Unfortunately I didnt get pictures of her souvenirs.
We then headed to VOLM and caught the 4:15 show. Both Mom and I love this show, especially the Under the Sea part with the puppets. It would have been much better if the baby in the row behind us hadnt screamed at the top of her lungs the whole show. I dont get why people dont take a child out of a show when they are screaming like that.
As we headed towards AI for the 5 pm show, I saw a photo pass photographer and realized we hadnt taken one all day. So we stopped:
We also stopped at the pin trading station under the hat. They had their big bulletin board out and I made my first two pin trades ever! I have to say I really enjoyed the pin trading and it will be something I will be doing from now on when I go to Disney. I will post the pins I got at the end of the TR.
Mom is a huge American Idol fan so she really enjoyed the show. It is neat how they make it seem like you are at the real show but I do think the attraction has run its course. As crowded as the park was that day, the theater was barely half full. And the day before, they had cancelled some of the shows due to lack of singers.
After AI, we had to decide whether to go to Fantasmic or catch the GMR and do some shopping. Mom just had no interest whatsoever in Fantasmic so we headed towards GMR. The wait time was about 15 minutes. I finally took some more pictures in the line although not very interesting ones.
We got the Gangster side which was a first for Mom. In the past we had always gotten the Cowboy side although I had gotten Gangster in 2011. I was really surprised when I read on the DIS that the Cowboy side was rare. We were also in the front row with the driver. We decided we didnt care for those seats because whenever we stopped, the action was all behind us and we had to turn around to see.
It was about 6:30 at this point and our dinner reservations were at 7:30 so we walked back down Hollywood Blvd to catch the shops we missed the previous night. I ended up buying a few Pluto items and Mom got a sweatshirt for one of my Cousins kids. My Cousin is a huge Disney fan and asked us to get sweatshirts for her three kids with one or more of the fab five on them. We spent a lot of time looking at different sweatshirts during the week. We headed back towards our dinner destination which was Mama Melrose and stopped in the Christmas store and the Muppets dump shop along the way.
We checked into Mama Melrose a bit early and only sat for about 10 minutes before we were seated. Neither one of us was in the mood for an alcoholic drink, so Mom got lemonade and I got Sprite. For our dinners, Mom got the Penne ala Vodka and added shrimp:
I got the Penne Pasta with Marinara sauce and added chicken:
I loved every bite of my meal, pasta with grilled chicken is one of my favorite meals and I was very happy to see it on the menu. When Mom ordered hers, the waiter asked her if she was sure she wanted the Pancetta as it could be a bit strong. She assured him that it would be fine. She really liked her pasta but did say that there was a lot of Pancetta on it. She ended up picking off a lot of it because it did get too strong. I wish I had taken a picture at the end because the first one doesnt show just how much Pancetta there was. She recommended that if you order it, to have the Pancetta put on the side or not on the dish at all.
Our pasta was pretty filling so we both got gelato for dessert. Chocolate for me and Vanilla for Mom:
Not much to say about the gelato. It was ice cream and it was good. Yep, thats about it.
HS was closed when we left Mama Melrose so we headed towards the buses. On the way out I took a few pictures along Hollywood Blvd. I had to get one of my favorite guy:
This one is of the cute tree shaped wreaths that were on the lamp posts:
Instead of heading straight back to our room, we stopped at Centertown to pick up something for Breakfast the next day. We had a very early morning coming up and were planning on eating in the room. There wasnt much to choose from at that time of night, I ended up getting Rice Krispies and apple slices and Mom got some kind of muffin.
We also shopped a bit in the Straw Market and I got a few more Pluto items. While we were shopping, I got a text from my Cousin asking me to send her a picture of what was in front of me that moment. So I sent her this:
Despite the fact that it was just a gift shop, she was really excited. I also traded for a pin with the CM at the checkout and she also gave me a few Pluto stickers! I guess after buying three Pluto items and traded for a pin, she figured I was a Pluto fan. It totally made my day to get those stickers.
We walked back to our room and found these guys waiting for us:
And those were the last towel animals we got all week. We headed to bed after that and turned the lights out around 11 pm.

Sorry you had such a long wait for RnRC, I had a similar experience with a crazy long wait for it on my DHS day, and I was in the single rider line!
I've only seen LMA once, in 2010 when it was Herbie. I liked it, but haven't seen it again for the same reason you said it wasn't as good, knowing the tricks kind of ruins it.
Your Mama Melrose food looks great! I really liked it there when I ate there last February, and was disappointed I couldn't get anything this last trip.

I have never done Lights motor action, I'm excited to do it this trip!

While my stalking abilities are legendary... I did NOT see you at Lights Motors Action...of course, we were sitting in the wheelchair seats, so we saw practically no one!
(My son and his family were also at the same show...and we didn't see them either!)

Love the photos of you and your mom in front of the big arch! My girls had their picture taken in front of it last time we were there and those were the WORST fp pictures ever...they had the sun in thier eyes and were VERY squinty. Not to mention that DD13's side ponytail was all messed up and ratty and her hat was caddy-wonk!
UMMM~~~ that Mama Melrose food looks delicious!! I think I have given up on TS locations in HS, but I just may have to give Mema Melrose a try at some point. We have had bad experiences at both Sci-Fi and 50's. This next time I think we are going to hop over to Cape May on HS day.

I should have known better than to get in that RnR line! It's one of the few lines that I've always found the wait time to be greater than what is posted.
Knowing the tricks for LMA does make it a little less enjoyable. I had fun though knowing the secrets and watching Mom's reaction when the were reveled.
I love Mama Melrose! It's always been one of my favorites and a must do for my trips.

I'm glad those pictures in front of the arch turned out since they were the only ones we took that day. The one with our arms out is one of my favorites from the trip except that the Photographer cut off part of the sign.
I'm not sure why I like Mama Melrose so much but I can't imagine a trip without eating there. It's not the best Italian food I've ever eaten but there's something about the atmosphere that I love.

I think you guys will like Sci-Fi. I know a lot of people complain about the food but I've always enjoyed my meals there. And they have great milkshakes too!
Pin trading was so much fun! Although at times I feel like a creeper staring at everyone's chests!

I never understand why people have to ruin things for others by staying in a room with screaming children. Take them outside so that others can enjoy the show. Seriously!

Since everyone is begging to know about my March trip, here's my preliminary details. I'm still working out what I'm going to do each day but everything is booked.
I will be going solo and fly out on Thursday, February 28th and come home on Tuesday, March 5th. I got five days of tickets with Hoppers as I'm leaving very early on Tuesday and won't be able to go to any parks.
If you hadn't figured it out from my ticker, I'm staying at All-Star Music. This resort has always called to me for some reason (probably because I was a band geek from 5th grade through college) but I've never had the opportunity to stay there. I'm going to request the Jazz section since it's closer to the food court but I'm not too worried about where I get.
I wasn't going to get a meal plan but with the discount that just came out, I was able to book Regular Dining! When I was booking my meals, I didn't want to go outside of the parks since I will only be there five days and want to maximize park time. Also, I decided to do mostly favorite restaurants that I have eaten at before.
Here's my tentative schedule:
Thursday - I land in Orlando at 10:25 am. Once I get to the resort, I plan to either have a quick lunch there or at DTD. It will depend on how quickly I get to the resort. I don't want to eat lunch too late because my diner reservation is at 5:20 pm. After DTD, I will head to Epcot where I have an early dinner reservation at Rose & Crown Pub. I'm not sure if I will stay at Epcot after dinner or hop to MK. Got to have that view of the castle I've been craving!
Friday - I'm headed to MK for the day. I don't have any meals booked right now as none of the restaurants at MK thrill me. I do want to eat at BOG but nothing is open for dinner right now. If something opens, I will cancel the meal on my AK day.
Saturday - This day will be AK for most of the morning. I don't think I will need a whole day here so I made a lunch reservation. I don't feel comfortable doing a character meal by myself and there is nothing I will eat at Yak and Yeti so I booked at Rainforest Cafe. I haven't eaten there is almost 15 years so it's time to go back. I didn't want to make dinner reservations this day because I'm not sure if I will end up at DTD, MK or Epcot for the evening.
Sunday - Hollywood Studios with an early dinner at Mama Melrose so I can catch Fantasmic.
Monday - Epcot for the day with lunch at Coral Reef and dinner at Viva Napoli which is the only new restaurant for me.
Tuesday - I fly out at 11:30 am so DME will probably pick me up around 8:30 am. No time for much except maybe breakfast if I have a CS meal left.
So that's it so far. I don't know if I will do a PTR because I'm not planning on making much more of an itinerary that what is listed above. I want this trip to be pretty open so I can change things if necessary. I also want to try to slow down and catch more shows and parades if possible.
I will be going solo and fly out on Thursday, February 28th and come home on Tuesday, March 5th. I got five days of tickets with Hoppers as I'm leaving very early on Tuesday and won't be able to go to any parks.
If you hadn't figured it out from my ticker, I'm staying at All-Star Music. This resort has always called to me for some reason (probably because I was a band geek from 5th grade through college) but I've never had the opportunity to stay there. I'm going to request the Jazz section since it's closer to the food court but I'm not too worried about where I get.
I wasn't going to get a meal plan but with the discount that just came out, I was able to book Regular Dining! When I was booking my meals, I didn't want to go outside of the parks since I will only be there five days and want to maximize park time. Also, I decided to do mostly favorite restaurants that I have eaten at before.
Here's my tentative schedule:
Thursday - I land in Orlando at 10:25 am. Once I get to the resort, I plan to either have a quick lunch there or at DTD. It will depend on how quickly I get to the resort. I don't want to eat lunch too late because my diner reservation is at 5:20 pm. After DTD, I will head to Epcot where I have an early dinner reservation at Rose & Crown Pub. I'm not sure if I will stay at Epcot after dinner or hop to MK. Got to have that view of the castle I've been craving!

LOVE the update. I love that you treat yourself to Pluto items while you were there.
We have never seen Lights, Motor...whatever it is called. I'm not a big car person; and now I hear they are closing it down for the new Carsland type section.
I never understand why people have to ruin things for others by staying in a room with screaming children. Take them outside so that others can enjoy the show. Seriously!

And we LOVE Mama Melrose...need to get back there one of these trips.

I can never resist a new Pluto item. I'm hoping that there is not too much new in March because I'm trying not to spend too much money. Last trip I had almost $500 in gift cards and Disney Visa money but this time I probably won't have any.
Even though you don't like cars, I would see LMA if you get a chance. It's really fun and the first time I saw it I think I held my breath the whole time! I'm not sure how they do what they do without crashing.
The little girl was so annoying during VOLM! We are talking blood curdling screams, not just a little crying.

Sorry for making you jealous (well not really
)! I'm just at the point in my life where I can afford to go more often. I think I'm trying to make up for the 12 year gap between 1998 and 2010. I am excited to be able to do what I want, when I want! On my 2011 trip, one friend was attending a conference and the other liked spending time at the resort pool. I got a taste of the freedom being solo can give you and have been craving it ever since. Not that I would have changed the trip with my Mom for anything!
Bring on the shopping list! I love to shop. Whether it's for me or someone else I don't care.

Aw man, I absolutely love it when planes are empty! On my way home I had a row to myself and could just curl up and stretch out when I wanted, it was great! I also really enjoy the hilarious Delta safety videos, like, what is that!? You can see stuff from Disney in the sky?!!? WHAT?! I guess I never really have the window seat so I cant really take a good look, maybe I will this time!? Oh mini fake monorail

Man, CBR is a really awesome resort! I think its probably my favorite at the moment, I mean, obviously the deluxes are nice, but who can actually afford to stay there for a full week? Hahaha. Its cheap, its pretty, it all around won for us when we were there!
Uh martini trio!?!? I think this is something that I would need to try next time!! Yum!! Im pretty sure that Le Cellier is seriously just the best food Ive ever had, the pretzel bread is so good in the soup!! But I get the digesting stuff, I had the soup, and boy did I pay for it ahaha, talk about a stomach ache! I still find it so weird that they said they didnt do the mashed potatos at dinner that day
Its turning into 2 meal credits?! Ah man, cmon!! No fair! And my Mom and I found that too, best meal of the week, and nothing could compare to it after that, hahah. Man, our Epcot day was so close, I wouldve been around the France area at 2, hanging with Aurora, then when you got out of lunch, I was over with Belle, bhaha!
That stage must have been set up for like, the new years party or something. I know when Disney Channel Rocks started, it was there, but then they changed it to a float that moved down the street with them, but that week it was back to the stage .hmm
You guys definitely spent a lot more time in the lights than I did, granted, I was absolutely freezing, and had already sat through Fantasmic, lawl. I didnt know there was a photopass in there, some great pics of you guys! Ah, early nights, I was home by about 9:00 that night too, early nights all around!
Aahhaha, dont even worry about booking/planning a trip with that little time. Ive planned and booked a trip for the next week before, its great! Haha, traveling solo is pretty awesome, and its definitely safe in Disney, I dont think Ive ever had a moment that Ive been worried about anything in Disney, I just always get freaked out by things that go bump in the night haha!
When we stayed at CBR we never went down to the food court for any meals but one dinner, and we ended up eating outside at the bar! Lawl.
Ive never been on Star Tours, I (this is shameful to admit) have never actually seen any of the originals, and the only reason I saw the new ones was because a friend of mine dragged me to it. Thus, have never bothered with the ride, hopefully Im not missing much!
I LOVE THAT LITTLE BLUE GATE ON THE RIGHT ON TSM!!! BEST EVER!! I also have the Iphone game! I love it, it makes me feel so at home when you play with the music, and I think it definitely helps, you know more where to aim for more targets to come out
So glad you got into pin trading! In April a friend and I both bought stuff to start off with but never ended up trading. I dont like spending tons of money on them, but I went on Ebay and got a huge bag of them for like $30.00 and now I absolutely love the pin trading!
Aw man, somewhere right around the time you guys were finished up with AI, I was headed between B&tB and the Star Wars store to meet a friend, weeeird. Could have crossed paths again!
Yay for a new trip booked and all planned out! We will definitely be in Magic Kingdom at some time on the Friday!! Its our last full day in the parks and well be park hopping pretty much everywhere (minus Epcot most likely).

Plans sound good! You will LOVE doing a totally solo trip. My last 3 trips have all been solo and I've loved every minute of them. If you start getting bored or lonely the CMs will talk to you, as will many guests in line.
