I can't pack...

We are flying out of BWI tomorrow and I just can't bring myself to pack. I am so excited to go but just can't pack! I thought I would be done by now but just haven't gotten motivated enough to even start! HELP!!!!

Well you really don't have much of a choice but to get it done. I am a last minute packer myself. I don't know how some people pack 30 days beforehand. It's not that I don't enjoy packing (I actually think it's fun-- part of the trip). I just can't bring myself to do it more than 12-48 hours ahead of time. I have been known to wait until DH is actually loading the car to pack-- don't do that-- that becomes not fun.

If it makes you feel any better I'm usually packing into the wee hours of the morning the night before (well, I guess really the day of) the trip. I look at the people here who say their packed and have three weeks to go and go . Seems very strange to me!!

Oh, and I always fly out of BWI too. I live only about 10 minutes away actually.

I'm one of those "way too early" packers. Maybe if you sit down and make out a list, it'll get you motivated. Sometimes it's hard to pack early, since you're all still wearing the clothes that you'll be packing. Have a great time!

I agree - make a list. I'm a way ahead of time AND a last minute packer! I have all the little travel size containers all filled and ready to go, I have my list started for packing clothes, and we don't leave for 57 more days! I'll be packing the clothes at the last minute because we'll be wearing them before that, but with my list started I already know what I need to go out and buy, or rather what I need to make my DS18 go out and buy, before we go. I really think he's going to need more than one pair of shorts for a 9 day stay at WL.

Don't worry, even if you end up packing at the very last second, you'll still have a ball.

We are flying out of BWI on 5/8! I have most of my clothes that I want to take laid out, but I have to wash them, iron them and put them in my suitcase. I usually do that one or two days before we leave, otherwise I'll forget what I packed!

I'm about halfway packed. Since it's supposed to be 60s/70s here all week, I've gone ahead & put out the shorts & tank tops because we won't be wearing them. The toiletries are about halfway there. Park items are all laid out as well.

Get busy!

We are flying out of BWI on the 11th AND we are on the Eastern Shore as well! There is nothing like last minute packing. I don't know how, but it all gets done somehow. Have a ball and I'll keep the bridge clear for your return! (Did ya hear the middle lane is going to be back up soon????).

It's nice to know someone close to home is here too!

Thanks to everyone for the their advice; it is now 10:00 and I have my kids stuff packed but still nothing for me...In my defense I wasn't home for a little while! But I am now motivated, I guess I don't have much of a choice!!
