I can't find detergent tablets!!

I've looked at all my local grocery and discount stores and can't find the detergent tablets anywhere! They used to be everywhere in a lot of different brands. What happened and where can I still buy them that you know of??

The travel size toilettrie section at wal-mart often has the whisk tablets. But half the time they are out of stock. They are on the bottom shelf of our local walmart in that section.

Before tablets came along, I used to just put some powder detergent into a snack size resealable 'baggie'. I never had one break on me, either. If you can't find tablets, that might work for you. I stored the baggies/detergent in the pocket of my suitcase.

The tablets are no longer available around here. I have been hunting for weeks. Not sure why they disappeared but they sure did! I plan on doing as mtblujeans suggests. I love those little snack size bags.

I've measured out powdered Cheer before , packed it in freezer zip bags and stuck it in a pocket of the suitcase. I like it better than the tablets anyway, it gets things cleaner, I think. This time I'm buying liquid Cheer and Shout during our grocery stop with FLTOURS as I'm traveling with 4 messy kidlets and we'll be gone two weeks+ so we'll need lots, I thinkin. And I like liquid detergent better in public washers as I'm never sure if they'll agitate well enough to dissolve the powder or tabs.

I'm bringing the scent free fabric softener sheets from home though.

The laundry tablets have gone MIA here as well. No longer available in my grocery or drug store. Too bad. They weren't as messy as carrying powder detergent.

I wanted to use the tablets during our trip last month but couldn't find them. I ended up getting a small bottle of wisk which worked fine and didn't take up much space.

I look at Wal-Mart each time I go. I've searched the internet as well. Maybe ebaying the tablets the above poster has is a good idea! Food Lion has a policy posted that they will get you what you want. Maybe I'll try them out on it! Disneycrazy730 - when did you get those? Lately?? Thanks for all the help. Perhaps in the end I'll go with the small bottle on my grocery stop! Thanks!

I picked up my tablets before christmas, i would make sure to look in the toilettrie's and the detergent isles....My mother in law said that she seen them at the dollar store not to long back.....Have you looked like in a Walgreens or a drug store like that i bet they carry travel stuff as well.....

One thing I found at Walgreens in the laundry soap section. Single uses of liquid. I know they are not tablets but if you put them inside a plastic bag just in case.

Also this week Walgreens has on sale 20oz bottles of ALL for 99 cents. I bought one for when we travel. I can refill with any kind of soap.

The last time I found this was at Wal mart, but not anywhere you would expect it, I found it on one of the end caps at the register lines.

I've never been able to find the tablets either. But tonight I was at the Dollar Club and found a small box of detergent, does 10 loads, for $1. Pefect to keep in our timeshare.

Much as I was teasing before, I think that the Super WM had them up in the cash register aisle too. We only have a regular and we don't have them, but the SWM in Watertown I THINK did. I had a $1 off coupon on a detergent, but they were the wrong brand. That's why I scoped them out. But up near the gum, kleenex, film etc that they stick in the checkouts.

Our Super Walmart has them in the detergent isle still. Not a big name brand but is purex tables. Just bought a box yesterday for our trip. Any one want me to ship you a box
