I'm looking at planning a trip to WDW in Dec (first 2 weeks) @ the Poly. It will be my kid's first trip there, and will be a first return for me and H since 1989.

I really would like to go for december, but now I'm debating if I should wait until the next value season (jan-mid feb). I will be able to save more money...but how much of an increase do you think will be in 2009?

argh! I hate that I can't make up my mind!!!

It's the value season from November 30, 2008 - December 18, 2008, and the rooms are the cheapest at that time. Also, during that time frame, the holiday decorations are up, there are minimal rehabs at the parks, and the crowds are fairly low.
There shouldn't be a rate increase between December and February. Room rates normally increase around August. However, if you need more time to save money, I would do what your conscience is telling you. Anyway you choose, please have a great time.

IMO, I would do it in December. I could be biased since we'll be at the Poly 7-14th too:rotfl: . My concern would be that if you wait until Jan, the money that you saved would go for the price increase. I'm not expert, first timer at the world.
