I Can't Believe We Ate the Whole Thing! 15 Nights of DDP with photos...!

I'm finally all caught up and anxiously awaiting the next installment. Great reviews and photos, thanks for taking the time to post. :tinker:

Thanks for all the great reviews! I'm especially thankful for the Yachtsman Steakhouse pics and review! I just booked it today.

It looked incredible the food and the mojito!

This is the best dining report ever! My DH will be ordering Caesar salad and my ds will be getting the PBJ. The Beach Club marketplace had some really good choices. Isn't that where you got the flatbread chicken sandwich also. I hope Captain Cooks has that many good options.

I am not even a big chocolate fan and that looks delicious!!

Great pictures. That ceasar salad looks good. I love chicken ceasar salads! And I also happen to love the pb&j uncrustables. I use to live off of those, easy mac, and ramen noodles when I did the Disney college program :rotfl:

OMG! I was getting a little bummed to see most of the desserts in those cups, but wow that chocolate cake looks devine. Now that is chocolate cake.

We didn't get to these and actually moved them the next day to the VWL. But when we finally tried them? Chocolately, creamy frosting and delicious. A fantastic snack!

Oh my, that choccie cake looks delicious. I am a complete sucker for chocolate cake :)

We also had some snack credits, so DH decided to splurge on come chocolate cake:

CAKE!! Why did it have to be CAKE???!!! My bowl of Special K has already let me down this morning.
DH and I are not dessert eaters but after a week with dessert at both lunch and dinner I found myself searching the house for even one little cookie last night. I almost broke down at 10:00pm and baked brownies! Maybe this weekend. That way I have a house full of people to eat them too. (Not just me! ;) )
Onward with the Gluttony!! :yay:

I was wondering about the Uncrustables PB&J they serve down there. My older son used to love them but then he started complaining that they were too soggy in places. Did you notice this at all or didn't you pay attention? Thanks!

That cake looks delicious!!!! Also the cheesecake at CR what exactly did it taste of? Thanks :goodvibes

You're killing me with that chocolate cake up there! I've just finished all my weight watcher points for the day!

Wow! That salad and cake look like a great dinner! Another great review!:)

Oh my! That cake looks wonderful!

I was really pleased that DH picked this out - when I was doing my pretrip report, we all put together a list of "top 5 must do's" and "top 5 must eats" for each of us. One of my top 5 eats was the chocolate cake from Tusker House or FTBBQ at AK. I was not happy to see that they went from those lovely dark chocolate slices of cake to the little cups. :sad2: Admittedly, the little cups are surprisingly very, very good but not the same. So DH decided he would take care of my chocolate cake disappointment with these.

I am almost ashamed to say we were too full from CR and the salad to eat them that night, but I made sure we moved them with us the next day when we transferred to VWL :thumbsup2

Thank you! And might I add that I subscibed to and loved your DR too!

It looked incredible the food and the mojito!

It was wonderful - and the mojito? I am addicted to the Orbitz gum and I love the flavor of lime so it was on my list of must do's. DH tried it and said, "it tasted just like your gum. With raspberries." I loved it. It wasn't too strong or not strong enough and in addition to the raspberry flavor, they added crushed raspberries. I believe they got it at the bar/lounge right next to the YSH.

Thank you!! The Marketplace is great - sandwiches and salads for lunch/dinner but beautiful sweets and a full gelato selection. We got the flatbread at Hurricane Hannahs, which is the pool bar/grill next to Stormalong Bay - the pool complex at the BC/YC.

We did peek at Captain Cooks while we were at the Poly for Kona dinner. We stayed there last year and wanted to see the change from the refurbishment. I can definitely say you will have even more options at Cpt Cooks than the Marketplace has. :thumbsup2

Im thinking about changing my adr's now !!!

I hear you! I get to call tomorrow to begin making ADR's for our next trip and I keep moving them around and changing them based on reviews. I'm pondering CA Grill today...

I was wondering about the Uncrustables PB&J they serve down there. My older son used to love them but then he started complaining that they were too soggy in places. Did you notice this at all or didn't you pay attention? Thanks!

I think they are soggy if they don't thaw out all the way or if they thaw out in the package. The ones DS had at 'Ohana which were served not in the package were very dry and fine.

However, he refused to eat the non crust of the uncrustable. I don't think he quite gets the concept of this sandwich...;)

That cake looks delicious!!!! Also the cheesecake at CR what exactly did it taste of? Thanks :goodvibes

It was a plain type cheesecake - maybe vanilla? But the texture was just so different. You know how normal cheesecake is rich and heavy? This was very light and fluffy and possibly not baked/no eggs. Like if you take cream cheese and whipped cream and vanilla and beat them together and put that in a crust? (And if you've never done that, you have to trust me!!). It was like that.

And the berry sauce was tart, sweet and a perfect complement.

The next day, after moving, we went to use up some more of our BCV CS credits at our new resort: VWL. At this point we had 7 CS credits left and they would expire by the end of the day.

Roaring Fork was a great and reliable choice.

DS chose the PB&J, grapes and chocolate pudding with apple juice to drink. He also loves the sprinkle cupcakes from RF, so we bought him one of those as a snack credit. What can I say? We're on vacation!!

DH ordered the bacon cheeseburger and fries, one of the RF's HUGE brownies and a Sprite:

They have a nice small toppings bar there and he was able to goop up his burger to his specifications and it was very good. Again, I know this is a fast food cheeseburger but there is something about a basic burger at a beautiful place when you're on your way to the Magic Kingdom that just tastes great!

The brownies at RF are, without a doubt, the best. They are enormous and chocolately and fudgy. You can get them both with and without frosting. We opted for the with ;)

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad with Apple Vinaigrette - Granny Smith Apples, Candied walnuts, Tillamook cheddar cheese, croutons, a bottle of water and a sprinkle cupcake (DS gets his love of these honestly - they are great!)

BCV5-10roaringforksalad.jpg

The salad was very light and very good. The chicken was not dry and the dressing wasn't overly sweet. The salad didn't have any chunks of apple in it though - I remember thinking that was strange, but I was okay with it. I had an apple chicken salad at Panera the other day this week and I was reminded how much I liked the one at RF. At Panera it was sweet, sweet, sweet, RF was truly a nice fresh, light salad with enough protein to fill me up for quite a while.

The cupcake was a cupcake, but we've established by now how I feel about basic cake right? :teeth:

If you are at WL or if you're looking for a nice lunch break from a day at the MK, this is a very nice place to stop. Lots of options, seating inside or by the pool, and very good fresh food.

RF sounds like a nice option for CS. So, go on then, did you 'lose' any CS credits or did you manage to use them all up....I'm waiting with bated breath ;)

BTW, that brownie.......yummy:thumbsup2

Great reviews! Thanks for the info and pictures about Roaring Forks at WL. We were considering stopping there for a bite to eat and to check out the lodge, and your review seals the deal! :)

I thought my son was the only one who did that. I kept telling him that it was not crust but he said he doesn't like the edges...:confused3

I agree! I grabbed a couple of these for the road when we left back in 2004. I wish I bought more!

Sounds like UK cheesecake our's aren't baked :thumbsup2
