I Can't Believe We Ate the Whole Thing! 15 Nights of DDP with photos...!

Love the Yachtsman review - we're going to try them when we go back to WDW in October (not to be confused with the trip we're taking in 3 days).

Everything looked wonderful! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

This was the day we got up, DS had some fruit and cereal in the room and we decided to go hang out at the pool all day.

On the way to the pool, we stopped at the Marketplace and DH bought a ham, cheese and omelet croissant sandwich with the two drinks being a diet coke for me and an orange juice for the boys.

You've seen photos on here already of an egg croissant? This was not the same - this was truly an omelet. Big fluffy eggs, diced ham, cheese cooked and put on a croissant. I didn't have the camera because we ate this at the big pool and I don't bring my camera with me there. :(

It was, however, very good. And I am picky picky PICKY about eggs! A very nice, high protein and filling breakfast.

We swam for hours - until lunchtime - and then DH went and used up some more CS credits at Hurricane Hannahs. For him and Max?

cheeseburger, fries, coke
potato chips
choc chip cookie
lava drink

And what did he choose for me?

Chicken flatbread
Potato chips
Choc chip cookie
Diet coke
Lava drink

The cheeseburger and fries were standard fare. Definitely not up to Beaches and Cream standards, but good nonetheless. And eating this sitting at a table next to the swimming pool? Delicious! Max dug into the chips and cookie and had some of the burger.

The flatbread? He did GOOD picking this one for me! This was basically a small soft pita covered in sundried tomato hummus and then layered with dark greens that had been tossed in a light vinaigrette. Then add blackened chicken that was covered in a little tzaziki (cucumber yogurt) sauce? Yum! Hard to eat, but worth the mess.

My chips and cookie made it back up to the room.

And the lava drink? Oh....a vacation favorite! It's a virgin strawberry daiquiri layered with virgin pina colada. The perfect blend of sweet and sour. And why virgin you may ask?

Because DS loves them too. And there's that whole "frowning on feeding kids liquor" thing.

All in all? A good set of meals from the Beach Club on a lazy day!

Applause! I love your reviews. I can almost taste the food you are describing it so well. Thanks for taking the time to share with us all!

I need to check the receipt on this one - it was a hot dog stand in Tomorrowland outside the Lunching Pad. But I have no idea what it was called.

Space Dog! Why do I know that? I used to work there. Not fun to be standing next to a hot dog cooker in the hot August sun all day lemme tell ya :rotfl:

Anyway, I LOVE your dining report so far. The pictures are all awesome! Can't wait to read more :thumbsup2

YUMMM...i can't wait to go to the Yatchsman! We were thinking of getting the chateubrand when we go..did you by chance see anyone with that at your dinner..
Awesome reviews..again!

Wonderful reviews and photos!!!:thumbsup2 You are getting me very excited for our August TRIP!! We are seafood fans, all five of us, so fish will be a menu item every other day! :cool1: I hope I can take pictures as well as you did- I am not the writer though---:sad2:

THANKS!! It was bugging me - I knew it wasn't the Lunching Pad...but what?

I worked in food service for two weeks (it was the longest I lasted, sadly) when I was 17 and it was indoors, but next to a grill. You have all my empathy!!

We didn't, no. But our table was pretty far away from most everyone. That is something I'd love to try someday too!

This was the smoothie I was talking about!!!! I didn't realize they called it a lava drink. I first had it here back in 2003 and needed the virgin drink because I was pregnant. Yummo!!!!1:thumbsup2

Lava Colada Baybee!!!

Forgot about this one back when we were at the MK (smoothie, hot dog, etc).

One of DH's very favorites:

Oh wow! Makes me almost wish that Yachtsmen was on our list.

Now you are really making me feel awful!! I didn't take a single food picture while at the world last week!! :headache: We were just worried about getting to dinner let alone taking pictures of it! Never travel with people who have no concept of time outside of their own little world!!!
Anywho, Thanks for sharing! This is wonderful!!

P.S. Tricked DH with the cherry thing when we were at Coral Reef last Monday. It was too funny!!

What a great report!!! Thanks so much for posting. I love the pics, they really make the report.:thumbsup2

Thanks to your pics, I'm thinking of adding the Yachtsman to our ADRs.:scratchin :scratchin :scratchin

Thank you!!! We've enjoyed both visits to Yachtsman but this last one was definitely the best!

Those little things pack quite a flavor punch, don't they?? :rotfl:

Noted - seeing as I have the whole 'picky about eggs' thing going on too :thumbsup2

Sounds lovely - another one for the list. You know your dining reports have a lot to answer for. My list is now about a foot long :rotfl:

We had decided this day that we were going to cancel our ADR at Mama Melrose and play things by ear. I wanted to use some CS credits around World Showcase. But DH asked to check on Coral Reef again, since we had really enjoyed it and DS had been talking about it ever since. I called at 3:30 or so and was able to get an ADR 30 minutes later. :woohoo:

Max decided he was hungry this time, and went with the childrens carrot and celery and ranch dressing appetizer:

He liked this a lot. Nothing special, but it had the magic of ranch dressing and that makes everything taste good to kids, right? ;)

I decided on the Creamy Lobster Soup for myself this time:

I ate it with plenty of the bread:

I have no idea why they thought we needed 4 huge slabs of butter...:confused3 But it's butter! So I'm not complaining :thumbsup2

DH decided to go crazy and order something exotic:

BCV5-9-07CoralReefCaesarII.jpg

Yup. Caesar salad. Which was very good, btw. I tease him about how boring he is when he orders this, but I always have to eat part of it. Love a good Caesar!

No photos of the entrees - we ordered the NY Strips again (page 5, post 69 if you want to see what they look like). Dh said his was just as excellent as the first - which was great, because that said a lot to me about consistency. Mine was also very good, but it was 4:30 or so, so I wasn't hungry enough for such a large meal.

Dessert:

DS ordered the make your own sundae again - he loved having this choice everywhere, can you tell? They were all different though. Each came with chocolate sauce, but then some had a cherry (non brandied  ), M&M's, sprinkles, banana slices... here is the Coral Reefs:

BCV5-9-07CoralReefsundaeII.jpg

This was an M&M and sprinkles one. He loved it again...made it an art project to put together.

I ordered the Chocolate Wave again. It was just delicious yet once more. Hot and chocolately...MMMmmmmm!

(I skipped the cherries this time ;) )

DH, however, won the prize for Best Dessert with the Bavarian Cheesecake:

This was light and fluffy and the berry sauce was perfect with it. (That's a clear sugar decoration, in case you're wondering what the lacey looking thing is.)

Dessert Menu:

Overall, another fantastic Coral Reef dinner :thumbsup2

Goofy and Max sure are consistent with their ordering ;) DS would love that appetiser - carrots are his all-time favourite food (well, on a par with ice cream).

That is the second time I've looked at a picture of that Bavarian Cheesecake and thought that looked like a big glob of spittle on the top :confused3

For some reason, Coral Reef is really appealing to me now - but I would have to give up Le Cellier to do it and I don't think I'm ready to make that sacrifice :sad2: Maybe we'll have to wait until April.

BTW, that picture of the turkey leg was almost as bad as the PB&J

Later that night, with CS burning a hole in our DDP and hunger burning a hole in our tummies, DH ran down to the Beach Club Marketplace to get some snacks.

Yes, it was almost 6 hours after Coral Reef and lots of swimming so we were hungry again ;)

For DS, DH ordered a PB&J sandwich (still in the package so you can peek Joh! :lmao: ) and a double order of grapes with apple juice.

BCV5-9-07Marketplacekidsmeal.jpg

DS sat up and watched the Disney cartoons while he snacked on his sandwich and one of the grapes. The apple juice and other grapes were breakfast the next morning.

DH got us a Chicken Caesar to split with a diet coke and a chocolate chip cookie:

These salads are great - made to order and very fresh. DH knows I like my salads swimming, so he asked for the extra dressing. The cookie was soft and a very nice chocolate chip cookie. The same dessert we had received with our lunches at Hurricane Hannahs.

We also had some snack credits, so DH decided to splurge on come chocolate cake:

We didn't get to these and actually moved them the next day to the VWL. But when we finally tried them? Chocolately, creamy frosting and delicious. A fantastic snack!

You're killing me with that chocolate cake up there! I've just finished all my weight watcher points for the day!
