With 6 days to go my 7 yr old DD woke up last night and said my ear is hurting me which is very unusual for her. I took her to the pediatrician today and he tells me that she has perforated her hear drum. I said how could this have happened and I missed it. She has no fever no complaint at all and he said it just happens and she has a high tollerance for pain. I take her back on Thursday to see if it has closed she has an oral anti-biotic and one that is put directly into her ear 4 times a day and if it is better she can fly if not we aren't going.

{{{Hugs}}} Try not to feel guilty. My eardrums did that all the time when I was growing up. I usually couldn't tell that they were going to burst; they just did it. It's really not very uncommon, and she will be fine. She may have icky stuff coming out of her ear for a few days, but it ends quickly.

Don't feel guilty for it at all. That actually happened to a friend of mine in gradeschool and no one knew until after the fact. I do hope he ear feels better and that you will be able to go on your trip.

Oh dear. I hope she heals soon. I grew up with ear troubles and they were agony.

Prayers, HUGS, and get well pixie dust for your DD.

Hoping all goes well for your daughter, Shelby, and that you guys can enjoy your trip to the World. The Poly awaits you guys, she will do well.

I hope she's feeling better. I wish you luck later this week when you go back to the ped. ~pd~

My niece had her eardrums perforate many, many times. She never cried with or complained of pain in her ears.

I hope her ears heal up sufficiently so that you don't have to postpone her tip.
