I just came home from buying gas and a few groceries. In this area milk and meat prices have skyrocketed and don't get me started on the daily increase in gas prices!

How will we do our road trip this summer? How in the world do people with fixed incomes deal with this?

Thanks, rant over. ;)

Maybe our think tanks should be coming up with a way to get away from fossil fuels.........

I know how you feel. I'm not even on a fixed income but I fear the day that I am!

My gas went up 10 cents per gallon within 5 days. The milk must be about $3.60 a gallon. I found out my real estate tax will go from $2500 to $3700. My daycare person tried to give me a 25% increase and my kids' school tuition went up 15% and they significantly dropped the multi-child discount!

I got my first raise after 3 years and it was 8%. I guess I should be happy, I got the highest raise of our group but STILL!!!

When I left for WDW last week milk was 1.49 a gallon (sale prices with all stores competing) Came home and milk is over 2.00 a gallon now! gas is high here, wasn't as bad driving as I thought it would be. Most places were in the high $1.80's...I expected over $2.00 per gallon.

I am saying the same thing about houseing prices here in the Bay Area. DH and I looking to buy and it just kills me how much houses are. I am getting so frustrated!!

This is my 500th post!! Can't believe I have had so many things to say!!

I know it! I paid $3 for a gallon of the store brand milk and the meat for out beef and broccoli stir fry cost over $6! I shop at Costco and Sams as well as the grocery store. I ended up buying ground beef in bulk and freezing most of it just so we could fix burgers last weekend. It is getting harder to stay within our grocery budget. And gas? I drive a suburban and it cost $50 to fill up last time. Yikes!:earseek:

Congratulations on your 500th post Growin'upDisney. Just wait until you've posted as much as me. :p

Budget? I've totally given up on my budget and threatened to turn us all into vegetarians. Not that being a vegetarian is a bad thing but my son is starting to look a bit worried. ;)

Well, tomorrow is the day that no one in the world should buy gas. So with that in mind, I stopped on the way home tonight to fill my tank...just a different day. And I paid $2 a gallon for MID-GRADE! :earseek:

Eight percent! Wow! That's something these days! Your getting it after three years really stinks. You hung in there that long? :earseek: At the hospital I worked at for 8 years, we basically got either 2% or 2.5%. If you walked on water you would get the cap of 3%.  It's no wonder companies have a revolving door where employees are concerned.

This morning I paid $47.75 to fill my van with mid grade gas. Between DH and me, we are spending about $90 a week for gas.

We are having the backyard re-sodded this week and the company just called me this afternoon to let me know that the price per sod pallet will be $35 more than before, all due to the gas price increase.

If gas prices keep going up, a lot of people aren't going to be traveling this summer. ::yes::

Someone just reminded that all products should be going up due to higher delivery costs. What a mess.

I here you! We're not to happy right now because both my husband and I drive for a living. We both are considered self-employed and have contracts that won't be able to be renewed till next year. That means no matter how high the gas goes, we don't get more money - considering I spend about $100. a week on gas and he spends about $100. a night (he drives an 18-wheeler) it gets nerve-racking everytime it goes up a penny.

boy I knew CT was high in milk! Now I have proof. I don't think it's been under $3.00 a gallon for years now.
